I also heard something where they use some "other" type of additive in some prefilled cartomizers so that the liquid lasts longer in them. With your own liquid at least you know somewhat what you're getting, plus like the others said it will last longer so long as you keep topping it off every now and then. For me, I gotta top off every 10 draws I'd say. Keeps the inner wicking tube from burning and better flavor.

Take apart your used prefilled cartos and you'll see what I'm talking about. You don't wanna be inhaling burning stuff, isn't that why we all stopped smoking?

When I used prefilled cartos from Vapor4Life or elsewhere (for my KR808D-1) I keep them damp with juice and get as much as a week's use out of each.

I can use any thinner juices I want (I find thin clear juices keep the carto working well longer) and there are 100's of flavors. There are a couple of vendors alone that each have over 100 flavors. I generally like 80pg/20vg juices for cartomizers.

I use manual batteries (much safer from being damaged or killed by a juice leak - and when you keep cartos damp, you will occasionally get leaks) and I only use soft-cap cartos with a defined center air channel (they work well longer for me)

It is $2-3 cheaper per pack if I get blanks.

You have KR808D-2 aka E9 - not as much stuff available for that model vs KR808D-1. However you can find some parts at AZSmokeFree as well as some prefilled cartos which may be lower quality Chinese juice and some blank cartos, blank cartomizers at Vaporkings.com, D2 cartos at LeCig.com as well as D1 to D2 and D2 to D1 adapters.

Other KR808D-2 models are Smoke 51 Duo, Green Smoke, E9, LeCig D2, Red Dragon, Vapure and I think South Beach Smoke. Some sites list Bloog as KR808D-2 but the current Bloog is KR808D-1

-------

KR808D-1 hardware and cartos can be found at Vapor4Life.com, SmokelessImage (Volt), HaloCigs (G6), Bloogplanet (MaxxFusion)

If you are rich and can afford to use cartos once and toss them, and you are happy with the flavors you have, then there is no reason for you to try filling.

Note - the 3-piece ecigs that come with atomizer and cart - those are also filled but that's an annoying way to vape. People who buy popular models of those switch to using blank cartomizers which hold more juice.

I used the Vapor4Life batteries and their pre-filled cartomizers. I'm still new and trying flavors, so buying the cartos is working fine for me until I figure out which ones I like enough to buy juice to refill them. I'm also not sure how much I want to get into juices...I need this to be really simple, and it doesn't get any simpler than screwing a battery and cartomizer together and puffing away.

Vapor4Life has lots and lots of different flavored pre-filled cartos, and they give a great throat hit with lots of vapor. When you're ready to move up, but still want the cigarette-like type, I'd recommend them highly. I've also read here that the SmokelessImage kits are great, too.

Interesting, I guess this newbie has a lot to learn. Just stoked to be off the real deal after 27 years.

Congratulations!! That's a huge victory, no matter what system you use.

All the reading and learning you do will just help you out in the long run, since you'll get a good idea of what you need to keep you happy vaping. Some people needs lots of vapor, others want throat hit, some are hooked on their favorite flavors while others like to keep trying new flavors, some needs super-duper battery life, while others prefer more compact and portable.

Eventually, you'll find your sweet spot, including the right nic level, and will soon stop caring about cigarettes at all.

I guess I'm going to be stuck if my prefilled carts taste like nasty juice because I read somewhere that no other cartomizers are compatible with Apollo. Does anyone know if I am wrong about that? Ooooh booy, I hope I don't have to learn to vape with nasty juice!
nope...dig around there are youtube videos, etc on cleaning cartos. you should be able to wash out the icky stuff and reload with better juice.

I do refill cartos more than use pre-filled, and agree with everyone here that it is a good bit less expensive but i'm with you on the simple part. And no mater how careful I am refilling is messy.

Still being a newb myself, I've decided on buying prefilled cartos that are similar to juices I already have. This way I can keep my cartos wet by just refilling. I have a KR808d-1 Bloog PV and I like the bloog (prefilled $1 more) cartos or smokeless Image's Volt's cartos. So it's like having a lil bit o' juice for cheap or free! But if you don't like any of the prefilled cartos, get blanks.

I have a greensmoke and it help to get me off of the analogs...since then I have moved on to some 510 models...Yeti, Silver Bullet Mod, Riva. I've also used the prefilled cartos and have tried to replicate the taste with ejuice from a few diff vendors on blank cartos. I stared mixing some premade juices together to try to get the exact taste I wanted. Now I have 500ml of base and several flavor extracts (and a Reo Woodvil Mod) in the mail so I can mix my own.

It's a fun journey...
