Does Pila charge hi-amp bats too quickly?

I've used my Pila chargers with great success for 3 years on AW IMRs, enjoying great overall battery life (total useful life not just daily life).

Now I'm into vaping mechs in the sub ohm region and using 30 amp bats, I'm wondering if the Pila is still the best choice for high amp bats.

What is the charge amperage the Pila is putting out?

ETA: Illumination Supply lists the standard charge amps for the VTC3 and 4 is 1.5A. The VTC5 at 2.5A. I charge mine at 1.0A sometimes but mostly at 0.5A.

I might be wrong on this [/disclaimer], but my understanding of the Pila is that the "quick charge" cycle is when it is using a constant current (600mA I would assume since that's the only charge current spec I can find) and then when it hits a certain voltage it switches to a constant voltage and the charge current will drop as the battery approaches max voltage.

At that charge rate you're just fine. It doesn't hurt anything to charge at less than the max charge rate of a battery, in fact it's better on the life of the battery in the long term than pushing as many amps as it can handle into it

The output charge on the Pila is 600mA. But it is supposed to begin with a fast charge then automatically changes to a slow charge.

I don't have a Pila, I use a Xtar, but I think you're going to be just fine with the Pila. You said it yourself, you've had no problems with battery life in the past. As batteries get better mAh and max discharge is going up. Both of these allow for more amperage to be used safely for charging. The charge process has not changed for Li-ion batteries and Pila does that very well.

Of course as the mAh numbers go up it will take longer to charge them at 0.6A but I'm not aware of any literature out there that indicates that will hurt them. I typically use 0.5A on mine and use 1A only when I'm in a hurry. I am also getting good life from my batteries.
