This is not about E-cigs obviously, but I did not know where to put this, so I thought this would be the best place?? If you have to move it that is fine.

My main question is, does quitting ciggs cause Chron's Disease?

Thanks for any support on this! :toast:

No. Your immune system attacking the digestive track is Crohn's. There hasn't been an exact pinpoint on what exactly causes Crohn's. It is linked to genetics and tends to run in families. If you're struggling with Crohn's disease, I wish you the best it's a miserable s.o.b. until you get it in remission.

I don't have chron's, although seeing a thread somewhere in this area of the forum had me wondering, if I ever quit, would by body start to have problems dealing with it. Let just say my whole family smokes and well I have been trying to get them to slack up or even quit maybe but I don't want them to suffer from something else if they ever did quit. Because I know how things change after you change something you were highly addictive too.

Thanks for your support.

In my case, my Ulcerative Colitis went nuts a few months after I quit smoking which is common. I had it for years before and it was controlled by the smokes. I had multiple stomach and intestinal issues that I just coped with and popped OTC junk.

It was hereditary also. I continue to use 12mg/ml of nic, altho at the time of my UC flare I was down to Zero nic. Not planning on going back to smokes until it's time to gut me.

As many people that come here and other forums I only know of a handful of people that suffer, and some had it before.

I've read studies about doctors sticking nicotine patches on Ulcerative Colitis patients. Even if the patient never smoked. I was still smoking when my problems started. It really didn't get bad until I'd been chewing a can of green griz a day. That really made the Crohn's go nuts :( My doctor has been nagging to let go of the nicotine completely. Meh I am getting there ;)

I'd imagine quitting vaping (PG, VG, Nic, flavoring) altogether would be great for Crohn's- but, Doc's are gonna nag....

    Hope you're feeling well today.

Probably lol. I was a very heavy smoker. 1 & 1/2 packs a day was a light day, and for a while I chewed an smoked at the same time. One of these days I'll give it all up, but not now. Doing better today than yesterday. How about you r7 ?

BTW: r7 your avatar inspired me to post this. My favorite part of the movie. http://video.search.yahoo.com/video...=chrf-offrhap&sigb=13ac3qlqo&ct=p&age=0&&tt=b

Not bad. One day at a time. I've been in a medicated remission for two years, no flaring- but everyday is a bit of a challenge.

My BP also skyrocketed when my UC flared 2yrs ago, all these meds are a challenge in themselves. But, I've been an @home dad for 4+ yrs so I have all day suffer quietly/ get stuff done. :)

All in all, better than some and much better w/o smokes.
