Rebuidling coils can be a money saver just depends on how vaulable that time is. I rebuild all my coils for my rda's usually once a month. My wifes aerotank just gets a brand new coil. They are cheap enough and the headache of rebuilding in such a tight space isnt worth the 3 bucks a new one cost imho.

While I don't have the mini nautilus or any aspire tank to use their bvc coils in I can't say for sure they are do able. 90% of the pre made coils on the market can be rebuilt. Some easier then others.

Yes. $6 buys 100 feet of kanthal wire, enough wire for over 100 coils. $4 buys a bag of 80 cotton balls that can make over 200 wicks. So that's less than 10 cents a coil and wick total. A well wrapped micro coil can last for months, so you really only need to rewick and dry burn your coil when you notice a flavor loss. So you're talking under $10 a year to rebuild yourself.

Coil building is no more difficult than wrapping a holiday present. Sites like Steam Engine take all the guess work out. Plus there are plenty of Youtube videos to learn from.

Does rebuilding the coil save money? Is it cheaper than purchasing coils? I am about to purchase a nautilus mini, can you rebuild the bvc coils?

Yes, Yes, & Yes. Nautilus Mini BVC Build

Here are a few links for you regarding building coils and getting the resistance just where you want it:

1. Steam Engine
2. Coil Toy Calculator

Make sure to check your build with an ohm reader or DMM before putting it on your mod and firing it (even when you follow a YouTube rebuild video).

I would not be surprised to see FastTech selling prebuilt BVC's for the Nautilus at some point. They already have them for the Protanks.

First post... I'm a new vaper, about 2 months. Rip tripper has shown a rebuild. I went from Iclear 16s to a mini. I think the 16s have more flavor but the tip sucks. i bought the replacement bvc coils though I have an uneasy feeling about the material. So...I bought a Lemo drop, did my first build yesterday and I'm vaping Swedish fish right now. So if I had to do it over I would skip the mini and get a RTA.

I'm usually on an iPad Mini while watching tv...

And I'm usually on this forum answering questions while watching TV!

And to be totally honest, as much as I would LOVE to do a lot of rebuilding (and experimenting with exotic builds), with a one-handed disability it's pretty difficult to build. I can rebuild most of my single coil atty's (with difficulty) but my local vape shop rebuilds all my dual coil attys for me (free of charge)! I'm lucky to have them around.:)

In theory yes..in reality NO. Because you (we) keep buying more stuff.. mods, tanks, drippers. It's a disease LOL. That's how it's played out for me anyway. I've dropped close to a grand in about a month

This is very true, everytime I get a new rda, something else comes out that I have to get. awaiting a doge, and mutation x, just got a plume and tugboat on NYE. Now I'm eyeing the one from faceless that I saw riptrippers do a review on yesterday.

Over the long haul you will be way ahead im coming up on 5 years and theres times i spend very little money on vape supplies then thers times like lately where i go wild and buy up one of everything new or maybe 2 but if you look at my banner there is no way I've spent anywhere near as much as i would have on cancer stiks.

I know I personally over the long haul have saved tons of money by changing things I do vaping. Also just over 5 years removed from cigs. I was a very heavy 3pad smoker living in nyc when I switched. My savings spread sheet has me down for about 28k saved on cigs, but about 9k spent on vape related stuff in the last 5 years. More then likely the other 19k went to bike and car upgrades, video games, and booze/food. I have expensive hobbies, but at least my doctor visits have dropped from several bronchitis trips a year to a once a year physical that is required by work.

And thats where the true savings comes in.
Yes coild building should be cheaper, except for time, but to me, the time sink is part of the enjoyment. If I need to hit it and get going, I can wrap, wick and have a coil ready to go in under 2 minutes. If I am experimenting, an complicated coil can take me half an hour, most of that itme is spent in wire preparation. Most of my coils can last easily a month with just rewicking, which I do more often than I have to because they are mine and I can, but I look forward to a weekend morning when I can sit down at my bench and rebuild my RDAs and my RBTAs, and sample juices.

It is subjective. My thinking is as long as I am not spending $65.00 to $70.00 a week on stinkies, I am ahead of the game. Once my juice is taken care of at approximately 30 mil a week everything else is madd money, or savings depending my my frame of mind. As long as I am not spending $280.00 a month like I did on analogs, I feel I am ahead of the game.
