Mass confusion setting in alert!!!

The first versions were the MT3 and T3. they use a one piece assembly that combines the coil with the base. Every time you wanted to change a coil you had to toss out the entire base as well. They no longer make that type of coil/base, but a few places are still selling off the old stock.

The MT3s and T3s come with the new two piece separate base with a coil that screws into it. The actual outer tubes are no different from the MT3 and T3 and you can buy a new base for your old tubes to upgrade it.

However that's where all similarities between coils used stops!

There are two different coil assemblies. One that fits the MT3s and T3s. And one that fits all versions of the PT1, PT2 and EVOD. There is a difference between the two coils and the base they fit into.

That flat metal washer, right below the wick, is smaller in diameter on the coil for the MT3s and T3s. If you put the two different coils side by side you can easily see the difference in size of that washer. The fittings in the bases are correspondingly different. Put a T3s coil in a PT base, the washer is too small, and it doesn't seal well and screws too far into the base. Put a PT coil in a T3s base and the over size washer rides on top of the fitting it's supposed to drop into, which means leaking and/or not making contact with the battery,

It's down to two coil designs for the Kanger stuff and there is a difference. Mixing the wrong coil with the wrong base can give you problematic results.

The PT3? Whole 'nother animal so let's leave that one out of this conversation.
