MT3 coils versus ProTank coils ? NO diff

I have a package of each of the MT3 coils and PROTANK coils ...well they are EVOD I guess....( replacement into new bases ) and I am looking at them side by side and I see NO difference.....could it be that they finally are making them the same one or what is up?
Length width....grommets everything is the same.

If I recall, where the head screws into the base is very slightly different between the MT3S (or T3s since the only difference there is MT3S has a metal shell) and the evod/protank but some report being able to use them interchangeably. I assume you meant MT3S since the MT3 doesn't have a head that comes off the base.

I tried the ft evod coil and the replacement coils offered by ft and neither fit my t3s. Part of the actual coil is wider for the evods so it won't fully seat in the t3s or mt3s. Therefore it also won't sit flush with the air tube either.

It's the flat "disc" part - the very widest diameter part. They are slightly different.

I've personally interchanged the Evod and MT3S coils, so I know the MT3S coils fit the ProTank because Kanger advertises that Evod and ProTank coils interchange. I believe Kanger is trying to stream line it's production by making one style coil for all their bottom coil products. Which works out really well for us who want a desent selection of different tanks but not have to buy different coils for each tank.

Seems they work in Protank but Protank coils are too wide for the mt3s or t3s

I assume you meant MT3S since the MT3 doesn't have a head that comes off the base.

Important distinction, it's an MT3S, not an MT3. The MT3 base, coil and post are all one unit. If you order those, they will not fit in anything other than an MT3 or a T3.
