I have a 510 but due to the short batt life of about 1.5 hrs charge I am looking to step up to the KR808. About the time I toke a 510 batt down it's touch and go whether the other batt will be charged back up in time :-x I have a battless passthough so that has solved the problem for around the house and and work but it's running around on weekends that make me nervous about batt life.

I can get an adapter to the 510 atty and get the mega KRs and use those until the 510 attys and batts die off and eventulally switch over. But I've never used cartos but they sound good on a video and hold about 24 drops so they'd last longer it sounds. But If I don't like cartos can I still use carts on an KR system?

Would switching to to a 901 be an option too as I've only heard of them and dont' know anything about them.

Thanks!

:)

I've heard the 901s work without adapters on KR8 batteries (which would make sense, there are no airflow issues in that direction).

There are also mega (280mah) 510 batteries. They are still shorter-lived than a KR8 mega (380mah) battery. Still, most of the KR808 megas (manual) out there have a 5 second cutoff which is a bit annoying if you like longer hits (V4L solves that issue, theirs have a 10 sec cutoff).

There are also several 3.7v mods out there that can solve the battery issue for good.

It's worth it to try cartomizers -- they really do provide better flavor -- I'd try a 5-pack of blanks so you can fill with your own liquid to do a head-to-head comparison. JMO.

Would the same adapter allow me to charge a KR on a 510 wall charger that the unit came with or would I need a charging adapter?

Decisions, decisions!

:)

There is no reason it would not work, since it makes a good electrical connection.

Just keep in mind that if the adapter goes all the way into the charger, it could get stuck and you'd have a hard time getting it out.

The V4L usb charger is only $7.50, so for me it wouldn't be worth the risk.

I agree with PawPaw. I'm looking at an adaptor right now from goodprophets, and while it LOOKS like it might work, I certainly wouldn't take the chance for what a V4L charger costs. And it's a really good charger too, small enough to keep a spare in the laptop bag for emergencies. Hmmmmm, that's a good idea. ::eek:ff to the V4L store::. AGAIN!
