The reality is, the states that are in the most debt to the tobacco lawsuits they cashed in on early to pay for entitlements, like cali, will find any reason to keep people smoking. They need that tax money. I don't think taxes off vaping still come near the cigarette taxes. I smoke 3ml a day. I spend 15 dollars a month on juice. How can they make the same money as they did off me smoking a pack a day.

Long story short, they will find reasons. Look at the money they spent to make commercials, stating that they don't know if it's unhealthy.

The truth of the matter is that in any issue involving Money, Money Wins. Sorry to say that because that Kills Vaping, which I love. The only win comes from exposing the powers that be as the corrupt money grubbers that they really are. What happens to kids is just righteous debate. What really matters is that Pile Of Money.

It's Funny how this Clip has the Same Meaning Today as it did in 1976.

It wasn't "figured out" because myself and others on my side of the debate kept providing data when asked, and the other side simply said things like "of course not" "it's an adult activity" without providing any scientifically based reason on a matter of public health.

I say they can't get past "it looks like smoking" because on all of these issues that illicit a gut reaction, there are a high number(at least as evidence on this forum, by that poll thread) that associate vaping with smoking, even when the evidence suggests otherwise.

See this post:

Why should they not be, nicotine or no? I'd like something other than "because some will think it's marketing to kids."

1. None. There's a limited set of pictures that are mandated by the government to be used on tobacco packages (the black lungs etc). Is this what you would like to see on eliquid bottles?

2. Since the bottles are to be sold only to adults, I see no problem with them having any pictures from cartoons to erotica.

You know what... You guys are Right.

Lets put Cartoon Characters on Bottles of "Juice". Hell, lets make the Bottles in the Form of a Transformer. Or Spiderman. Or Hello Kitty.

I would totally buy a bottle of Transformers e-liquid, especially if it transformed. Toby kind of killed spiderman for me, though the new kid isn't bad. Not a huge fan of Hello Kitty, but I do still have some Bad Badtz Maru stationary on my desk.

Were you trying to say that adults don't like "kid" things? In this era, where nostalgia reigns supreme?

No.

Its was just that All the Compelling Arguments that this Kinda of Marketing will not be Perceived Wrong. Or that All those Fair, Open Minded and Non-Biased Senators will Not Use this as a Touchstone to Regulate e-Cigarettes back into the Stone Age finally won me over.

I'm sure people like Boxer and Diane F will get a Chuckle out of Cartoon Characters on Bottles of "Juice". And it would Never Incite them into a Blind Rage while Testifying during the FDA Deeming Approval Hearings.

The point I think you're missing is that even if there were no bottles of ejuice with cookies or cartoon characters, they would just hold up a bottle and say "look at this pretty pink colored label - they're marketing to little girls" or something equally as ludicrous.

They've already expressed their rage over bubble gum and cotton candy flavors, no pictures of bottles necessary, should we do away with those also?

As for vapers not seeing that vaping is fundamentally different from smoking, check out the thread on the Tempe, AZ ban on vaping while driving with children in the car...

The point is, it doesn't matter if something appeals to children. If it's not being sold to children, it is not marketing to them. If the commercial doesn't run on nickelodeon, and the magazine print ad isn't in Highlights, it's not marketing to children.

Sure... That is why I have Reversed my Position.

I now Believe that we should put Anything we want on Bottles of "Juice".

Satanic Symbols, Porn Images, Cartoon Characters, whatever we Want.

And if they want to Screw with Us, we'll Claim 1st Amendment Protection.
