First off, nicotine isn't a carcinogen, and secondly, if we look we can find innumerable things to worry about. I don't care to look. Once I was off the cigarettes and my health was so much improved it was enough for me.

Of course it's not a carcinogen, but from what I read it does seem like a realistic risk that comes with nicotine vaping over a very long period of time. Some people are simply more prone to get cancer. I feel a lot of the community averts their eyes from this matter. At the same time I think it's almost impossible to have a reasonable standpoint on it with all the regulators sniffing around.

The regulators sniffing around have an agenda, and will not allow the facts to bother them. They will just make stuff up as they always have because it's not about our health, it's about corporate profits. As far as nicotine over a long period of time, I smoked Marlboro 100's for over 40 years, and they had much worse in them than nicotine, and a lot of it too. Now I vape 12mg DIY juice and I know what's in it, so I hope I may be excused from worrying about it.

The most compelling argument that nicotine does NOT cause cancer comes from the studies done on Swedish snus. Long-term (i.e. 30-year) population-level studies have found no difference in cancer rates between snus users and non-tobacco users.

While this is a slightly different administration method (capillaries in the mouth vs. capillaries in the mouth, sinuses and lungs) it does STRONGLY indicate that nicotine does not play a role.

Edit:

Here's a useful link with citations to many scientific articles:
Cancer - Swedish Match

And I was slightly mistaken. There is an increased risk of pancreatic cancer among former smokers who switched to snus. But not of the other types of cancer.

Edit2: And, of course, Swedish snus are banned in the US. Thanks, FDA!
