The mvp is actually a lot closer to being accurate power wise. And eGo twist's are really way off base anyway. The one I had a year ago would burn everything up turned down all the way. Stick to the mvp, and maybe try wattage out and dial it in where you like it. Wattage is more like a power output that varies based on ohms and voltage. Basically setting it on watts will let it do the voltage on its own.

I use volts on everything. I add 2 to whatever ohm coil I have on the MVP and then drop it .2 volts so that I end up with a 4.3 volts on a 2.5 ohm coil. Works for me!! I also sometimes take an unfired quick draw on my tank before taking a fired draw, gives a nice rich vape.

I may need to go to a lower resistance, when i use power mode on the mvp it always tastes burnt even on the lowest 6w mode. most of my coils are 2.2-2.8 Ohms.

If you are using your MVP in wattage mode, going to a lower resistance should, in theory, make little difference.

I'd suggest you have something else going on here - either it's not delivering the power it says it is, or more likely, you have a wicking problem.

You can try opening up your protank and dropping a few drops of eliquid directly on the coils, then vape it at 6W as normal. If it still tastes burnt, the problem is with the MVP ( I suppose it could be the coil or the juice just thinking about it), if it tastes OK, the issue is wicking.

Are you using a particularly thick juice?

That doesn't make sense.. do you have anything else to use them with? Does it feel really tight, not getting good airflow? Decreasing your resistance won't help with burning.

No, you have that backwords. You would need to use a higher resistance. However your problem sounds more like a wicking problem than a voltage/wattage problem.

Just thought I'd add this thought. Brain fart on the whole protank thing, I used to get 2.2 ohm coils for my protank, and my vamo would burn them up at 4w. 2.8 would in theory be better if they are the same wire inside as the 2.2. I was unnaware that the mvp only goes down to six watts. What is the lowest voltage?

If you are burning up a 2.2ohm coil with only 4 watts there is something wrong with your wicking as that's not even 3 volts.

If your device is wicking correctly, you should be able to take it up to 7 or 8 watts with no issues (of course depending on the juice)

Im grasping at straws but im now wondering if its a bad coil. I just put tried my aero tank with a 2ohm coil, and was able to go up to 10w before it starts tasting burnt
Good possibility. I recently bought an Aspire Mini Vivi Nova for my new Smoktech Mini ZMax. Burnt flavor & harsh vapor despite allowing the tank to sit for a few minutes after filling to allow the wick time to saturate. Replaced the coil with another (one comes with the Aspire) and problem solved. First coil was bad right out of the box.

Ok I have been using my MVP 2 for a little over a month now. Last night i stuck my protank 3 on my vv ego battery and noticed it tasted different even using the same voltage. The ego made for a smoother vapor, where as the mvp made the vapor very harsh. Does the type of battery really make that much difference or is it all in my head?

It's not so much the battery per se but the electronics that work alongside it. Notice the Twist has the rattlesnake sound whereas the MVP 2 doesn't?

I think it makes a huge difference in the batteries. Ive got the black 3.7V 3000 mAh batteries and the red 1600 mAh 3.7V batteries and I notice a difference between the two of them. There's also about an 1/8th of an inch difference in size also so it's sometimes a pain having to re-adjust my caravella mod slightly to properly fit each battery. But it's worth the trouble for me, just to have multiple batteries fully charged always on hand.

That was just what the vamo did with a full battery. Its an old v1 vamo. When I was half dead it wouldn't burn. I was also talking about manufacturer coils. I rebuild my own now. Sometimes silica in manufacturer coils just takes burn until broken in.

Easy way to break in clearo's. 2 no-fire priming pulls. @ Low power 4 two second pulse hits. Maintain the same low power and vape for one hour normally. Then it should be ready for up to 7-8 watts. Maybe even 9.
