I was bored and decided to take apart my Reo as I watched Rob's tutorial on his website so I can strip off the finish to bare aluminum. What I didn't know was that removing the nipple from the bottom of the 510 causes it to break. I thought it was press fitted from the video, had no idea that it was threaded. I now can't put my precious Reo back together and have to resort to my wife's Kayfuns...I want to cry.:facepalm::(:(

You can just order a rebuild kit! I did that while I was waiting for my rebuild kit, not realizing that it would be unusable until it arrived :p

I don't see any 510 connectors/ nipple thingy separately... I'm going to have to wait until the sub ohm rebuilds are available :( . A Good and bad thing at the same time I guess..

There are two parts to the metal post. One is present when the connector center is installed. The other threads on to that. If you snapped it off then you did break it.

The metal contact also goes around the metal post before the second part is attached.

I am talking about the part that the tubing slides on in a working REO.

:( I found it a little unclear too.. maybe someone should make a movie on how to unscrew the nipple safely without snapping it and sticky it(sticky the vid)? would be useful :)

There really isn't a way to do it safely IMO ...... It pretty much breaks when you try to take one off, I consider it a one time use disposable part. Maybe if its fairly new it might unscrew without damage .... but if its fairly new there should be little reason to take it off.

So have a new one at the ready before you go taking an old one off........ Or better yet just leave it alone.

you were swinging lump hammers in both hands?

i don't understand how you can say its one time use disposable part :)

do the vid don't do the vid i don't care im just trying to help people out that might make the same mistake after watching the vid of rob.... and.. uh... FYI.. i have taken mine off/apart and back together again more times then i can remember... infact i took off the one that i was using and put the new one on which had a better/tighter nipple and i changed the firing pin holder just for farts and nothing seized, nothing slipped, nothing broke apart from my reo rebuilding virginity

and yeah little reason to take it off if you enjoy not getting full potential from your battery.. I can now vape a battery down to 3.6-3.65 without realising im running that low, so very good reason :D
