Hello, newbie here.

Bought my first electronic cig over the weekend. The cheap kind from the tobacco store with the plug in pretend cig box. A very unreliable smoke but it did help me figure out that I could do this. Got a referral to a site that was near my home and set myself and hubby up with a great 510 kit.

Figured out really fast that the prefilleds are okay but since I got to sample some juices, I know we'll be able to really enjoy the vaping and get over the analogs.

In two days, I went from half plus pack to two analogs and my husband went from 1/1/2 -2 packs to a half pack.

I know we'll be going through some learning curves trying different flavors and strengths etc so the initial output of dough is kinda high but the way I figure it, we'll recoup our money in a month and then begin to be money and health ahead!

Definately is a fun and easier switch because there are two of us, don't think I could switch if I still had to be around a full time smoker.

I am having troubles with giving up my morning analogs and hoping to find a flavor and nic level that will help me out with it.
Any suggestions for the morning? I am trying to not be a three smoke/pot of coffee person, this part of the switch is tough. Flavor recommendations to go with my coffee?

Noob myself, but I've found that trying different juices to find the sweet spot for you is key.

The first cig of the day is by far the hardest to avoid for me, and I'm still starting off my day with an analog with my morning coffee.

It's hard to recommend a particular flavor because taste is so subjective. Just try several different types. We've found that I'm more into the rich flavors (chocolate, caramel, RY4), but my wife is into the sweeter stuff (fruit flavors...peach is her favorite), and the beverage flavors (Dr Pepper, cola, root beer).

And I'd add to not give up too quickly on a flavor. I hated RY4 at first, but after a bit I really started to like it.

FWIW, I never would have thought I'd like those kind of flavors, and figured I'd go for the tobacco flavors. Haven't found a tobacco that I like...but V4L's dark chocolate...yum!

If you are looking to replace that cigarette flavor, some of the cigar flavors and french pipe come close... also the Harley flavor and Freedom from Halo is getting good reviews (mine is on the way!).

RY4 and cappuccino or coffee flavors help. I love RY4 in the morning and the Cafe Macchiato from TastyVapor is a winner! China's coffee/cappuccinos have been horrible for 4 plus months. I've tried a bunch of them from various vendors. Not recommended.

If you find it hard to get around that first ciggy of the day, sometimes substituting the cigs with Snus or nasal snuff can help. I use 4 snus a day, first one with my morning coffee and a nice French Pipe vape. (no spitting with snus, it isn't anything like "dip or chew" tobacco) You can find more info. here in the Smokeless Tobacco section of the forum Smokeless tobacco - E-Cigarette Forum

I've been looking at the tasty vapors. I think I'll place an order today after I search this forum and take a crash course on the vg/pg ratios which is all a bit confusing to me.

I don't think I'll be a huge tobacco flavor person for one reason. I have smoked for 27 years, for the last 26 I have smoked only one brand of cigs, VS Menthol Ultra lights 100's. If I run out then I am a miserable person, if I smoke something other, I guess I got the nic fit taken care of but I usually want to gag. Regular non menthol cigs make me want to puke. I even get alittle irratated if someone buys them for me and comes home with 120's.

I am vaping the tobacco flavors right now, which are not so bad with a beer but kinda horrid with the coffee. We'll both figure it out eventually, with some trial and error of course!

Welcome Amy to the forum! You could also look at Ms. T's Essential Bakery for some morning eliquid with your coffee. I have not personally tried her's yet but everyone raves about it and she has some very wonderful and interesting flavors that perhaps you would find a great companion with that morning cup of coffee! Good Luck!

I haven't yet seen anybody recommend what I think is probably the most widely suggested cure for the morning cigarette, which is a higher nicotine strength juice for when you really need it.

You took the words right out of my mouth, DC2! I start with higher nic, and then settle in to 12 -14 mg the rest of the day. I sometimes do have a real one in the morning, though. Don't beat yourself up if you still need an analog. Many do quit analogs completely here, but many do not, and many use snus or other tobacco products. Nic is not the only thing some crave in analogs, but upping it sometimes goes a long way. Take your time, its not a contest, and remember: PVs are not meant to make you quit smoking, they are meant to be an alternative. Just because some do quit says nothing about you personally. Enjoy those learning curves!

OR - just don't stress right now over those morning ones.
You cut back from a massive amount to 3 - you did good - it may take you time to waen yourself off the last few. If if does, then it does, don't stress over it and cause yourself to smoke MORE from feelings of inadequacy.
We aren't anti-smoking here - we're pro-smoking and anti-cigarette - but we aren't anti-people either. It took you many years to get into a habit and established routines - not everyone can leave those little comfort behviours overnight, and you shouldn't try. You will give up all your smokes when you feel ready to do so. Don't push it, and let things progress at their own pace.
One morning you'll wake up and discover the urge for that first smoke on a cig isn't really as strong as it was and THAT'S when you'll know you've turned a corner.
Just don't worry about it :)
