Today I decided to smoke just out of curiousity, (haven't touched a ciggy since the end of march) I thought it sounded like a good idea. Went in the bathroom and stood under the exhaust fan (in the shower lol) and lit one up. Blegh! Took about 3 puffs and threw it in the toilet. Never again. Tasted horrid, no nicotine buzz, and even after showering snd changing clothes I swear I could still smell it. I quickly took a hit from my istick 30/Subtank nano, and still tasted like crap. Brushed my teeth and could still taste nasty smoke all day long. I don't know for sure if I'll continue to vape long term, but will definitely never smoke again, even the few I smoked before (a few a week). I don't know how smokers that haven't yet discovered vaping do it.

Congrats! I knew when I got to that point that I didn't have to worry about it anymore. It's an awesome feeling, and not smelling like poo anymore is just a bonus.

Haha, yeah, some folks develop a heightened sensitivity to the toxic tobacco sticks.
I'm one of them too. Some may think the new repulsion of something we did for many years is purely psychological and akin to a "born again" type of mentality.

For me, I understand the habit very well, it just physically makes me want to vomit when I'm near it.

I think what gave me the thought to smoke again was yesterday evening I went to a local do it yourself carwash to wash my car, and the guy in the next bay was smoking some kind of cigar/cigarillo, and it smelled wonderful (some kind of fruit flavor maybe). I wanted to go over and ask if he had another one, but knew I couldn't finish it in the time it would take to wash the car, and having just bought a new (used) car, vowed I would never smoke in it. So on to this morning, thought a cigarette sounded good. Oh boy was I wrong.

I always smelled it before, even when I occasionally smoked, but never noticed the horrid taste lasting all day. I never liked the taste of cigarettes anyway, but yuck! I swear now I can smell a cigarette a mile away- driving down the highway with the A/C on, I can smell someone smoking several hundred feet in front of me, and can smell smoke wafting through the air when there are no smokers in sight. And the stink from the butts and on smoker's clothes! My Dad is still puffing away on about a pack or two of the stinkers a day, (thankfully outside!) And I could vomit when he walks by. I do most of the laundry, and have resorted to washing his clothes seperately in hot water on the longest wash with extra rinses, loads of detergent and softener and they still smell like I ran an ashtray through the washer! I do know, I never smelled *that* bad, I always stood upwind of the smoke when outside and washed my hands, brushed my teeth, and sprayed some cologne before making human contact. But I'm sure I did smell. Not going there again.

Quit smoking myself last week, I was curious on day 5 or so just what a cig would taste like. I still have over half a pack of Kamel Reds chilling in my room and decided to show my pops what exactly he and I have been inhaling most of our lives. I took a normal drag off of one and blew it into a white paper towel. It looked like dirty toilet paper. He was astonished and appalled, yet continues to smoke. I have to get him on an ecig asap.

I said and thought the same thing with 4 months of no analogs, smoking smelt and tasted awful.
4 months after that I went back to smoking slowly. Back up to 2 packs a day. I made my own with a cigarette machine and tubes (filters attached) didn't cost more than $1.00 per pack. For over a year I was smoking again until my nephew who thought I was still vaping came over to show me his new 50 watt / kangertech sub ohm coil. This is what I missed while I was away from vaping. Now, no more sucking your lungs up to your throat with a Nova or Pro Tank.
Within 2 weeks I was analog free and back to vaping. 35 days in without an analog, and no real desire to light one up. Just give me my 12mg Espresso or Vanilla or Chocolate or any combination of them and I'm fine.
And I have my hobby back of building coils. Bigger and badder coils at that.

Although it's true that the first one after a while is never really that nice if not unsmokable it does usually take about a week's of smoking to remember what it felt like back when you were smoking regularally. To be honest cigarettes were too strong for me anyway I much prefered roll your own tobacco.

I'm four months into it, and I can't say that I haven't wondered what having a smoke would be like. I've come close to it, but never done it. Then, one day last week I was in my friend's car and he lit one up and it smelled so bad I thought I was going to throw up. It was like the smell of it got stuck in my nasal passages and I could smell it for a couple of days afterward. I was sure I could smell it on my clothes until I got home and could take them off. He is my only available source of a ride during the day if I need one (my wife takes the car to her work and drops me off at mine), and I don't know how it would be possible for me to ask him not to smoke in his own car, because he can't tell how unbelievably awful it smells. Geezus, it was nasty. So now I don't want to try one after all.
