What I do is ask a manager on the property and just ask them. I stayed at a hotel and the lady said she remembered me from staying there one time because of me asking if I was allowed to vape in the room vrs the guy that has been staying there for a month, my co-worker. She thought that was top notch of me to ask. I was allowed to because of it being unflavored I believe but that is what I showed here that I wanted to vape in the room. Also maybe mine being a tootle puffer had to do with it as well. I went outside to blow clouds.

That is not true some hotels have started using the partical detector type.
highly unlikely, rare at best. I am TDY several times a month across the US and have never set off an alarm with a REO sub OHM setup. Just use common sense and don't go cloud chasing and you will be fine.

make sure you remove the shower cap and put away any vaping supplies in your suitcase before you leave the room EVERY SINGLE TIME. If you are gone and housekeeping sees evidence, you may get fined, as ridiculous as that sounds. I worked the front desk of a hotel for years.
Do not disturb works well also.

I travel quite a bit and vape in hotel rooms with no issues so far (knock on wood). I stealth vape in the room though, use a little PT Mini 2 or a Reo with RM2 and strictly M2L vape. Inhale the vape, inhale again on top of that, maybe one more time, and you exhale nothing or almost nothing at all. Works like a charm.

Works for me anyway...
I rock the clouds in my rooms. No issues so far.

I travel frequently and been vaping in hotel rooms for 3 years with no issues, besides the fact that it's virtually undetectable the maids even they smell something they'd have no idea what it is...vapor doesn't smell like smoke, actually...most if not all people that smell the vapor around me tell me it smells good, I wouldn't worry about it.

If you aren't allowed to vape in a hotel room should we really be telling people how to get around that rule?

I think so , i really do , i took time and thought this over for a good while as well but i'm sticking to getting around that rule somehow , some rules just have no business being rules and this is just an atrocious rule imo .

I'm not going to put up with it and i'll suffer the consequences when and if i get busted.

So follow the rules unless you don't like the rules and we wonder why vapers get the same bad rap as smokers

I haven't traveled since I started vaping so I really haven't thought about this. I'm on a business trip and staying at a fairly nice hotel. I've been running outside to vape and was thinking that I could possibly vape in my room.

Now I've never tested it but will the vapor set off the smoke alarm? I'm thinking that some smoke alarms are looking for a particulate amount which vapor would be just that. I really don't want to test that anyway since it wouldn't be a good thing as I am here for the next two weeks.

I tried vaping under the sheets but the clouds just don't seem to want to be contained. I'm thinking that the bathroom seems to be ok since they get steamy during a shower.

Anyone have experience with vape clouds and smoke alarms?

Depends on the type of alarm.
I'd ask about it.
If vapers asked at the hotel, that gives the hotel a heads up for the future.
If people merely routinely vape in hotel rooms and set a pattern of setting off alarms and inconvenience from evacualtion, hotels are going to get annoyed with vapers in particular instead of catering to vapers.

I actually started vaping because of hotels. We went to Austin for a concert and I knew it would most likely be smoke-free as most of the city is, even bars! I was too scared to be trapped on the 18th floor of a smoke-free property so I got online and bought a G6 kit and some juice. No problems with vaping in a VERY nice hotel but Austin is a pretty pro-vape city. I was hiding it the entire time until I got in an elevator with a guy using a mech mod just throwing clouds. He walked through the lobby looking like he was on fire and nobody even looked twice. From then on I just used it everywhere including inside the venue with not so much as a comment. It may greatly depend on how popular vaping is wherever you are staying.

depends on the type of smoke detector in the room.

I'll have to disagree with you, I don't care what kind of smoke alarm it is, someone vaping in a normal manner by themselves in a room won't set off an alarm...a smoker in a smoking room doesn't set off alarms, why would vapor.
