I've seen where some people in the beginning start vaping to quit smoking, fall off the wagon, and then proceed to give up on vaping all together and go back to analogs. I myself am guilty of slipping in an analog (especially with alcohol), but if you vape more than you smoke you will eventually vape enough throughout where you will not want an analog. The key is finding the juice and e-cigg/mod that fits YOU, once you find that fit, analogs will soon be in the past. Just don't give up, research your favorite brand of analogs and test out different mg of nicotine, flavor, and pg/vg mixtures that makes you feel like you just had an analog after three or four vapes. Don't think that if you had a weak moment and grab an analog that you wasted your money on vaping. Pick up that pv again and try maybe different voltage, atomizers, cartomizer, tankomizers, juices, etc. You will find a fit, and when you do you will have a "deep breath" of ease and tell yourself it was worth it.

A week ago, I was smoking 1-2 PPD, depending. If you had told me I'd be down to 4 smokey sticks a day as soon as my PV arrived, I not only would have laughed in disbelief, but in relief as well. 4 smokey sticks a day? Me? A miracle worthy of angels and trumpets and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Now, a week later, yep, I'm already feeling guilty about the 4 smokey sticks per day. I think it's in my compulsive nature to do that. I beat myself up about a lot of stuff.

So I keep reminding myself that I didn't start off smoking 1-2 PPD. I worked up to that, diligently, over many years. So IT'S OK if I need to wean myself off, and WOW!, look at how far I've come already!

Maybe if there actually were angels and trumpets sounding every time I used my PV instead of a smokey stick, I'd feel more triumphant, heh. Where's my parade, dammit?!

So very true....I have only been vaping since May 10, 2011. As I have stated on different forums, this has been a love/hate relationship for me. I'm determined, so even if I have a "nerve out" and take a few puffs off of an analog.....I come right back to the vape. (It just 'taste' so much better! lol) This is alot of knowledge to try to absorb. I even had the thought this a.m. "Maybe I will just waoit until 'someone' makes this 'simple'.......... I have never spent so much time (not to mention the money....Yikes !) on anything in my life.....except a baby!! Just realized in the past few days that MadVapes is in Cornelius. I am in Denver,NC used to live on Cornelius

What helped me get all the way off the analogs was to never have my preferred brand around. Before I really started vaping I just had the rolling tobacco here. So if I really wanted a cig I'd have to get out the machine and roll one with that nasty tobacco. Being lazy, it wasn't worth the trouble and they didn't taste that good if I did.

I might have had more trouble if I had my fav brand sitting here.

Also I used the old dieting trick. If I really wanted one, I'd tell myself to I would if I waited 1/2 an hour and vaped my head off. When I did that the urge usually passed.

Great advice. I have only been vaping since the end of May and pretty much have it down to between 2-3 analogs a day. Yesterday was the big test because I left my charger at the beach on Tuesday and had to smoke nothing but analogs yesterday. Was a little worried about if I was going to regress when I went back to vaping today but so far so good. Can actually say that I really didnt enjoy the reg smokes all that much at all and am back in business lol.

First, pat yourself on the back, as you've gone from your normal habit to a fraction of that. I had the "last" pack of analogs around, and for the first few days with my PV, I'd have one or two. Still, I was amazed that I had cut down to two. Then, the mental challenge started. Sometimes, I felt I needed a "real" cigarette, but would talk to myself about vaping.

Physical movement of sticking a stick into your mouth? CHECK.
Smoke/vapor and throat hit? CHECK.
Proper nicotine delivery? I ran back to my local brick and mortar for the 24mg stuff, just to be sure. CHECK.

So, I'd tell myself, I'm doing everything and experiencing everything I did with an analog, except without the smell.

The pack of analogs gone, I vaped like crazy. I had some Boge LR cartos on hand, when the stock eGo-T atty wasn't giving me the mental "oopmh". And then, the urge for an analog went away. No curiosity on taking a puff to validate what I was missing. Vaping gives me the same experience, and I'm still looking at ways of improving it. That's the fun part of the journey.

Even with slips back to analogs, the reduction is a success. When the urge goes away, and the analogs disappear, that's total VICTORY! Good luck on your journey, and great job!!
