Ok, so here is what happened. I did my usual cleaning of my atty in my alcohol solution. I was rinsing it out under water and I hear my room mate coming down the stairs. He then proceeds to get all loud and obnoxious ans startles me. There goes my atty that is not even a week old down the drain. Needless to say I was ticked. I slammed the door to make sure he would leave. I can only imagine the grossness that is sitting down in that pipe. So ok he's left and I get the pipe apart, pull it out of the gross stinky water rinse it off, alcohol again. I have left it alone from yesterday afternoon until a few mins ago. I hook it up and put some cappuccino smooth 6mg 50/50. Barely any vapor and after a couple of puffs it starts tasting burnt. I pull my whistle tip off and do a burn. The little coils I see getting red and the little smoke that usually happens isn't doing its this at all. Yes I heard crackling, but nothing else. :(

Moral of this is don't drop it down the sink. Learning my lesson I have now built a strainer box for cleaning supplies to where I wont loose them down the sink.

Thank god I ordered a new atty yesterday to replace this one, and I have one other on hand.

Yeah I wishi could get him to pay for it. He's a jerk and I can't wait till we move out of here, but anyway...

Holy cow the whole 510! That really stinks and makes me scared to even take mine into the bathroom.

Yeah I got the light and pulled a few more pieces of wick out of it. (I accidentally when cleaning it dewicked the atty, freaked, then found out I was ok.) I went ahead after it not working right this time debridged it to see if it would work better, and nope it didn't. Its really hard to pull from, and get any vapor out off. It is however firing better, but still the burnt taste. So well I've learned a lesson.

1) make sure you have a strainer, or plug for bathroom sink when working on cleaning small expensive pv parts.

2) don't live with an obnoxious person.

I had that happen once. There's a garbage disposal in our sink, so I could see it. I got it out with a 10" hemostat type tool that I bought somewhere. It's a long skinny one that's great for reaching into the disposal.

Oh well, atties don't live forever and they all go "down the drain" metaphorically in some fashion. You might still save that one if you can clean out the draw holes on the sides of the threads with a fine wire. Be careful not to poke the atomizer coil when you do that. There's probably some gunk still plugging them if you have hard draw. Don't give up!

Try blowing through it really hard to see if it will dislodge whatever is clogging the holes.

So, I just refilled one of my tanks for my ego-t and i put it on and as I am running the last of the other juice out, here goes the burnt taste. I figure "here we go, my first atty has gone bad and its my only LR one..." I tried blowing it out well and it was still horrible. I even tried some of the juice that I had in it before to see if it was a fluke but it wasn't. So before I switched to a different atty, I blew it out a few more times and finally it has come to its senses I guess because it seems fine now. I guess the wick was clogged? I just hope it doesn't happen again before I have a backup atty.
