If you did a poll on this site and ask vets what they needed to switch completely, 90% would state they needed high nic levels, not lower ones. Since you can easily reduce the nic level of liquid but not make it higher, it's more effective to tell new members to start out at 24mg and then go up or down based on their personal experience after a couple of weeks. To me this makes it simple, does not confuse people and has the higher probablity of success.

here's your poll... http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...icotine-levels-instead-trying-lower-them.html
all over the map... everyone is different.... start somewhere... 12, 18, 24 and find what works for you by adding or removing in calculated increments....

honestly, ive been vaping 30 mg liquids, and ill sit and vape for like 20 min before i even begin to fill like i just had a ciggaretteor the equivelent of such. lately ive been wondering simply: mg's per WHAT? per ML, per bottle, per hit etc....probly fixin to post that question here in a min

It's mg/ml... 30ml is pretty high- what device are you using?

another point/observation- lots of folks tend to end up with an e-cig hanging out of their mouth all day and go through 4-6ml/day of juice using higher powered devices ... because for the most part, we can....
Whereas if you want to use your e-cig like an analog and have it look like an analog(which is the tendency when you start) you'll need more nic because you're getting less vapor production, and hitting on it less .... net: the 6 ml I used today on my dripomatic 500 (made up) gives me the same nic as the 1 or 2 ml you might use on a basic 510 setup ....

Before you go chasing nicotine to unsafe levels do a search here on "MAOIs" - it's a bit confusing but to what I stated earlier, there are alot of chemicals in cigarettes beyond nicotine that have effects on your body chemistry and when you suddenly remove those chemicals, there's some withdrawal involved.

dude dont keep buying different levels of nic e-juice start with the max and get some vg or pg mix and lower the nic that way. so if its not enough you can add mor nic to it til you get it where you want it. thats what i do and i love it, i always buy 36mg or better and mix it the vg gives great vapor aswell. i get my vg at walmart and the hobby lobby and it works great and its only 2 bucks

I was in the same boat, had 12mg with the first week and was struggling. Picked up some 24mg and haven't had an analog since. Now I'm slowly weening down. I like the taste of 10-12, and typically my all day vape is near there. First thing in the morning 12 doesn't cut it for me though, I have to break out the 24mg carto and jump start myself, although I have changed my routines a bit and that seems to help. Previously I would crawl out of bed and head straight for the back door and have my morning analog. I never smoked in the house, but I do vape in the house. Now I usually have a vape while I'm doing the first part of the 3 Ss :p Also, I have 1 carto with some rather foul 36mg from TW, when I get stressed or I'm jonesin bad, a few tokes on that bad boy and I'm all set :p

If it works for you , that's great but that works for diluting by a small percentage to reduce the nic. When you do that (especially 100% VG), you dilute the flavor - fine if you want to tweak from 36 to 32mg but if you want to make 36mg into 18mg your juice isn't going to have much flavor because you've diluted the flavor by 50% - use a VG/PG mix but still you're diluting it (PG will not kill the flavor as much)... you're better off using a high concentration of nic and adding it to your flavored juice...you can get as high as 100mg unflavored nic juice. Make sure you use safe handling proceedures i.e. rubber gloves and keep it out of reach of children, measure carefully and use one of the DiY juice calculators to make sure your proportions are correct.... At that level, nic juice it is toxic and if you get it on your skin, it will be absorbed - also do not vape 100mg without diluting....

if you are going to dilute your juice more that 20% or so, you'll also want a flavor doubler... at which point you might as well start mixing your own juice. If you want to tinker around with DIY juice that's cool, but please go and read the stickies in the DIY juice forum... IMO if you are new, you are better off finding a flavor you can live with and then spending a few extra $ and buying sample sizes at different nic levels... If you have no idea what you want, buy several different flavor samples at varying nic levels. Its more expensive up front when you start out that way, but you'll get there faster....first find what you like then worry about saving the $ later by making the juice yourself.... when you are ready to DIY on the juice, you'll save a ton....

I started with 24mg yesterday....was wondering if it was too high. Was thinking of ordering some lower mg juice. After reading this thread I will get some vg at Walmart to dilute just a little bit and see what works better at different times of day before I buy more juice.

I just lit up an analog (third one in two days)....and it tasted horrible....don't even want another one...so 24mg might be my day juice....

so much info to digest....one thread at a time I guess...this one was very helpful....

You can't add nic unless you buy 5-6 different strengths of the same flavor which is a waste. I would go with the majority (which is higher nic, not lower) and in most cases it will work.
Not to drag this out, but if you buy the highest and the lowest you can get anything in between without diluting or changing the ratios of anything other than nic.

I've been a "heavy smoker" for the past 37 years, but for the last 15 years or so, I've smoked "light 120" cigarettes. I thought that the juices in 12mg. would be enough nicotine for me. I like the flavors better than the analogs, but I don't seem to be getting my fix. I'm waiting for a few flavors to come in at 18mg. If this is not enough, I'll go to 24mg. I figured out that, that if the higher mgs. are too much that I can cut it with lower mg. flavors that I have and are compatible. It's better to feel good about yourself when you go from a higher mg. content to a lower one, than to feel defeated because you couldn't survive on a lower "dose".

Good to know before I make my first order.
