Just been searching online and saw this ad that was linked to the search results, by a well know Nicotine substitute product. They really are going all out, huh?

"...2/3 of e-cigarette users stop using them within a month of starting..."

Laughable...

That number is prob true considering how many people make the mistake of 'vaping' with cig-a-likes. I bought some of those twice and went back to smoking quickly. In my defense I didnt know there was something better.

Yeah, the main problem is, the ONLY way to really 'stop smoking for good'... is to vape!!!

Well ok, maybe not the ONLY way... but the BEST way. My mom quit smoking about 10 yrs ago, and she STILL craves sometimes -- the only thing that stops her from going back to smoking is that she has COPD.

I think they want to sell a product. An incredibly expensive way to quit that doesn't always work. Yes the best way is to stop but to me vaping is what works for me. It is much cheaper, well ok cheaper I do like to explore things. I also will say my breathing is much better, I am able to work out without feeling like I'm dying. So yes I am sure people do stop with other products however I would like to see how many of those stay stopped.

i think they were close but even more people go back to real cigs. the gas station products are garbage. the starter crap is crap. i went back to cigs and now have come back to vape with better equipment but i am probably going back to sweet flavorful perfect marlboros. manufactures are putting out crappy products, nothing is constant, always changing. flavor, dry hit, flooding. it is hard because cigs are perfect every time day after day and vape is always changing. by the way the vapers always putting down any neg vape reports are just like the tobacco companies

Yep, cigarettes are easy... really easy to die from, too. :)

They say "up to" 2/3rds of e-cig users stop using them after a month. Ha! I could make up to $1 million today trading futures.

If these people are using cigalikes, 1/3 are doing surprisingly well. How many people stop using Nicorette after a month?

I'm pretty sure it would be 9.5/10 nicorette users return to smoking, but shhhh....

Clive doesn't even touch on the most egregiously misleading thing about the ad (I'm not saying it was an oversight on his part; for the purposes of the complaint, there may have been no need), which is the threefold implication ("Quit For Good") that 1) vaping is the same as smoking; 2) ex-smokers who vape aren't really ex-smokers; and 3) consequently, there is no net health benefit involved in switching from smoking to vaping.

Which raises the obvious question: if e-cig makers aren't allowed to make positive health claims about vaping, why are their competitors (NRT makers) seemingly allowed to make negative health claims about vaping?

Did you follow his link to read Redhead Full of Steam's rant on it? BRILLIANT! I like her! Her rants are always amusing, and accurate!
