Donut Coil, does anyone like them?/ Weird builds

So i heard about a pre-made porcline coil called a donut. Does anyone like them? From what I've seen they look like they don't work supper well.

Also if you have any other weird builds post them here.

BTW i saw this on Rip Trippers channel on you tube, he tested it out and that is what i'm basing my knowledge on.

Never tried them, I tend to stick with your average wire around a rod sort of coil, it works well and as of late that's what I'm most impressed with.

If someone comes up with a way to make coils twice as good at producing vapor I'll take a look.

If you can feed a coil with lots of heat potential enough juice it will vaporize, so for me I think it is all about the wicking.

Me to, its just that this is new and it is supposed to revolutionize coil and vapor production, but from what i've seen it looks like it falls short of the normal wire. Speaking of that does anyone use G Plat wire? I've heard it gets hotter than normal Kanthal.

This is what i have right now, its dual parallel 7 wrap 26g micro coil, comes out at around .12 ohms.

Thought the point of a rebuildable was to muck about (safely) and try new things out, buying donuts seems like a step in the wrong direction to me. Probably meant for those who like to look like they are pros but don't want to/can't learn to do stuff themselves.

Good point, and from what i've seen those people will pay for their laziness with less flavor and less vapor.

I just watched something on them a couple of weeks ago and was not very impressed. Pretty pricey too if you ask me. Coils are just so easy (or at least mine are). I love learning about new things though. Look forward to reading about what people that have tried them think.

The ceramic doughnuts just aren't versatile enough for most people I think, they might grab a small following of folks who just aren't all that interested in putting a giant amount of effort into building a working coil.? I don't know.?

G-Plat, you mean 316L welding wire, LOL. No, I don't use that stuff.

It still conducts electricity so it could short out the battery.

Interesting. I never new that ceramic was conductive. I just assumed there was some type of resistive wire inside the ceramic.

It is super low conductivity, that is why it heats up so slow. Anything you shove electricity into you don't want it to short out.

I've used them, they suck. They heat up too slowly and stay hot for too long.

you are exactly right. ceramic doesnt conduct. thats why you can fire a coil and pinch it all at once with ceramic tweezers.

the heat retention kills it for me. Low ohm build with high gauge kanthal is where it's at for me at least.
