What’s up guys, I’m new to the forum. (Well obviously)
I recently got a 22mm dotmod petri rta, the v1. Currently have a .25ohm build. However, I cannot seem to get good flavor out of it. No matter how many different builds, wicking techniques, flavors, etc. I’ve tried. It still gives off a sort of burnt/ and sometimes even flavorless vape. Cloud production is a lot, the wicks are getting plenty of juice and nothing looks burnt even the slightest.
Any ideas on what that could be?

My device also shows .25, I tried some fused Clapton’s a while back and I had the same problem.
I assumed maybe the coils had a hot spot or maybe the cotton was too tight/loose but even after rewicking through multiple techniques, nothing Has fixed it.
Now, it’s not a burnt taste as if I completely blackened the cotton but, it’s definitely a noticeable burnt taste and sometimes over powers the flavor of the juice

I'm not a huge fan of Kanthal because of the taste. To me it tastes like rust/burning.

If it's the first time you use Kanthal, it may be that. I may be mistaken here, but getting to that resistance using Kanthal means whatever you're using is very thick. It would take forever to heat up. Even if you're using higher wattages, it may not be achieving the temperature you need for it to vaporize the juice properly. I'd either use NI80 or higher resistance and thinner gauge/simpler Kanthal coils.

And finally, nothing that DotMod makes is really good at performance. Their selling point is the aesthetic. The ease of use and performance are secondary. This is true at least with their newer stuff, since the owners left. I am not sure if your RTA is from before or after the original owners left, but it could just be that the RTA sucks.

After taking the tank apart. I noticed it looks like the deck may touch itself.
