Well the title doesn't do justice. I am using a high drain 18650 batter and even with the single thread head the Silver Bullet jsut doesn't perform like my Provari. Do take note that the 18650 is about 4.1V at max charge and siphons down from that. But even a 4.1v is less performance than the 3.6v on the provari. What's going on here? I'de figure that the SB would perform better with this dual-coil.

I also once had a hot coil but that broke. Do you think this would make ALL the difference?

The battery by itself. My ohm meter died and I haven't bought a new one. I know the 1.5ohm carto cant stand anything above 3.7v. This is already 9.1watts.

I guess whats important to ask is: Are the dual-coil cartos wired in series or parallel? The Silver buller Double Barrel head is parallel btw.

I found it important because im trying to figure out why my cartos are poor on my SB but efficient on the ProVari. I know parallel circuity keeps the same resistence with each coil, while series circuits have a combined resistence. Actually a series dual-coil would be pointless; to keep the same resistance you would have to make each coil half as big.

Anyways.... even in parallel, each coil should get the same 3.7-ish voltage (and produce the same Watts of heat), as it does on my Provari, but somewhere along the line these coils on the SB fail to produce vapor like my ProV PV. Do you think that the ProV is compensating for the higher load of 2 coils unlike the SB?

If I remember correctly, the Provari keeps the voltage you select even at under load. I could be wrong though. Dual Coils even though they are rated at 1.5 can handle much more than just 3.7. Obviously on the Provari you can not go much higher than 4v or so but I have had my Dual Coils on my GG at 6.4v and it works fine. Crackles and pops quite a bit but it does work. You will not really ruing the DC that much since the individual coils are 3ohms apiece.

Wow thats pretty cool! :p I ended up getting better performance with my high drain battery after topping off the charge. After about an hour (or less really) the performance dips and I no longer want to use the High Drain. Its as if I DO in fact need higher voltage :p. Any way to get to 4.5V with battery stacking? or perhaps a 4.5V abttery? I'de like to see this work out on my DB-DC-SB <-McVapor likes that abbreviation :p

Double Barrel is a mod from Altsmoke for the Silver Bullet that lets you use two attys at once. Its efficient for regular attys but produce the same amount of vapor as HV. (just about). So I'm trying to push performance out of my SB. And no I no longer own a hot coil but idk if it would make much of a difference.

I wanted to update my old thread:

I now have great performance out of the SB-DB. MY issue was around some poor quality juice but now that I hav quality stuff am I getting clouds of vapor. I still think 4.5v or 5v would be perfect on the SB-DB because I feel each atty is at 80% of its maximum efficiency. If my ohm-meter didn't die I would verify this. Anyone else have a double barrel?
