We all know that if something is too good to be true, it usually is.

Ive been off cigs for 2 weeks now, the longest ive gone in years and though ive felt the withdraws of analogs.. it has been easy. I love vaping. It gives me exactly what i look for in a smoke. I could vape all day and I try not to.. I try to use it like i would use a cig, as a break but occasionally for longer amounts of time.

My concern is that people arent aware that sucking on nicotine all day isnt good for you and that, though these are much better than cigs (as far as we know), nicotine is still highly addictive and having a device that delivers it anytime anywhere could be a danger to an addicted individual

in short, how do you feel about the potential dangers involved with vaping? if any really exist..

I don't know much yet... But from what i'\/e read isn't nicotine like caffeine? Maybe someone can (probably not a regular joe, I would assume this would be difficult to do) test and explain how much nicotine the a\/erage body can handle before you get jitters, headaches, nausea like with caffeine? The reason I think it can be dangerous is because when alot of people (including me) start \/aping they ha\/e no idea how much nicotine they take in on a normal basis. When I started the other day I assumed I would need High Nicotine carts after a friend broke it down to me I see now that I want something around 12mg or lower as I lo\/e the hand to mouth mo\/ement and it's actually not that much about the nicotine (yet I do need the nicotine at least for the time being). Interested to see what people think

It's been 2 months for me and I'm willing to take the chance of living a healthier smoke free existence with my PV. I have drastically cut down on the nicotine I use just like my caffeine. I do get great pleasure just blowing out the vapor and simulating my smoking habit. I'm pretty sure I'm getting less nic with my PV even if I do vape more, I am quite happy with my discovery and new way of life. All the best.

I think I'm just as addicted to vaping as I was to cigarettes. The plus side is I'm not taking in all the hell that tobacco has to offer. I was addicted to nicotine anyway so where is the down side? Will I have to deal with the nicotine addiction someday - sure. But for now, I'm not killing myself slowly with tobacco and there is nothing wrong with that.

I vape 24nic all day and I mean ALL day. I haven't noticed any side effects.

The nicotine is really the health issue here, obviously.
I think many feel they need high levels like 36mg to compensate for analogs and if they are like me need to vape a lot to stem the cravings. Guess it depends on how heavy a smoker you were.

Some juices are OK at 12mg for me but Tobacco needs to be 18-24 or so.

The long term effects of using 36mg or perhaps even 24 are not good I feel.
Especially if one vapes a lot.
The sensible goal should be to lower the nicotine level in your juices but that in itself can be tricky for some, although doable.

Whilst there's still a cloud of medical uncertainty about the long term usage of vaping logic would dictate that it's a heck of a lot better than analogs.
We all know this.

So vape on!!!
But try and lower your intake of Nic.

I've seen members get REALLY upset over threads like this lol. But I agree with you. It's not healthy to CONSTANYLY put nicotine in your system all day every day. Specially those on 36mg. I started out at 36 and vaped all day every day like most people do when they first start vaping and eventually the 36mg all day caught up with me and started making me feel really ill and bad (about 3 weeks into vaping) so I cut down and low n behold I started feeling better!

I use 12mg - not sure how that compares to cigs cos it only contains nic/flavors and PG&VG - sometimes I use 0 nic - it doesn't bother me at all :) I've had a cig since I started vaping - for comparison - my 'old usual' ultralight and t made me feel like I was OD'ing on nic - very nauseous. I concluded I got more nic from a cig than I do from vaping as I dont feel that way when I vape. Even if I vape a LOT I dont feel sick or ill like the cig made me feel (and it tasted really yukky but that wasn't what you asked lol)
Smoking didnt bother me either until I started getting issues, I imagine Ill be the same with this. This is pretty much my only vice except for coffee so I'm not worried about it, I think its pretty neat.

Greetings Vap-er!

The jury's still out on this. But everything is relative. Chance it with this, or continue with a condemned killer? It's a no brainer!

The big difference, imo, is CONTROL. With vaping, we control everything. We choose the type of liquid, the flavor, the nic level. In smoking, your ability to control is nada. What stuff do they add to the tobacco? Control nic intake? Only way is to smoke less...easier said than done!

We can vape all day and slowly taper off our nic intake...to a point where we are at zero nic and still vaping all day!! That's the real pleasure of vaping, not the nic. It's the ole having your cake and eating it too!

I vape all day at 25 mg and have actually realized health benefits. My energy and endurance have gone way up. btw, I do have a 90-day plan to reach 0 nic.

Well, nicotine separated from cigarettes is NOT dangerous for you unless you ingest massive amounts of it. Most vapers who truly have the attitude of healing their body usually wean themselves down on mg a little at a time.

Dr. David Baron, Chief of Staff, UCLA Medical Center, has a 10 minute report on nicotine NOT being bad for you and also reports that propylene glycol being absolutely harmless. I've sure slept a lot better after I've seen his uTube report on it. See it here.

Furthermore, Dr. Gary Weinstein, pulmonologist (lung doctor) who treats only smokers has testified to that fact also in the following link.

Hope this helps. Welcome to ECF and happy vaping. :)

the last thing I want is to piss anyone off lol. I LOVE this forum and its members.

I totally understand that we can assume these are much better than cigs so when it comes down to it, PVs win over analogs hands down.

do any of you guys switch between low or 0 level juice, and med/high juice? i.e. puff on 0 nic juice till you have a craving then pop on a high cart for a bit then switch back?

any thoughts?

also, thanks alot for the video post. feeling a bit better.

Um..I said I did in my post lol But I dont do it for craving times - I do it when I feel Ive had enough nic juice and I want to vape, but dont want any nic. I'll vape zero nic then until until I feel the opposite. I find I dont get really big cravings - I think I crave the 'activity' rather than the nicotine - I have a feeling I did the same thing when I smoked too.

I switch back and forth. When I'm working I tend to vape alot, so I vape 0mg. In the morning I vape a 12mg tobacco, and switch between 0mg and 6mg the rest of the day.

I think that there is not a one for one .... puff to vape puff. Burning butts gets more nicotine into you (thanks to the many millions spent and modern chemistry) then you get when vaping. I feel that I have to do about 30-40 vape hits to get the same amount of nicotine as I would get in 10 drags on a ciggy. And, as Seabrook above noted, nicotine is not the bad guy. It is naturally in many foods that we eat, such as broccoli, tomatoes and potatoes.

Hard to piss-off members unless you're being a total jerk. so don't worry about posting any of your concerns.

I believe most members vary their intake based on their own experiences. There's no formula because everyone has different tolerance levels. After a bit of trial and error, you'll find what works best for you.

For me, I like to keep it simple and stay with the same nic level. I found that 25mg works for me and that's all I vape, Everyone is different.

In Ruyan cartridge health report they claim that in comparison to analog (medium strength and 16mg ejuice) 15 digital puffs equal to 1/5th of analog in terms of nicotine amount delivery.

In general quite many people, who do not intend to quit, but vape a lot, report that they reduce strength of ejuice quit noticeably over time.

Personally I've dropped from 18mg to around 6-8mg over month of digital.
