We all know that if something is too good to be true, it usually is.
Ive been off cigs for 2 weeks now, the longest ive gone in years and though ive felt the withdraws of analogs.. it has been easy. I love vaping. It gives me exactly what i look for in a smoke. I could vape all day and I try not to.. I try to use it like i would use a cig, as a break but occasionally for longer amounts of time.
My concern is that people arent aware that sucking on nicotine all day isnt good for you and that, though these are much better than cigs (as far as we know), nicotine is still highly addictive and having a device that delivers it anytime anywhere could be a danger to an addicted individual
in short, how do you feel about the potential dangers involved with vaping? if any really exist..
Well, you make a good point. I'm still trying to figure out how much nicotine I WAS getting from cigarettes, and I haven't even had one since early March. I never did calculate the mg level of nicotine juice I should use to equal that. I just found that too high was too high, and lowered it till I felt no ill stomach or blurred vision. And have found that even on less, I don't vape any more than with higher amounts. So I'm not sure the addiction is entirely the nicotine, you know what I mean? I know a great part of it is indeed.
But I compare it to alcohol or caffeine, both of which some people can't live without on a daily basis. Some it's a few beers every night after work or dinner, and some must have coffee in the morning, like me. But if you give me decaf, I'd never know it. I really don't care which it is, I just need the feeling of that warm coffee taste. I don't drink anymore, so I can't comment on that, but I get your point. And I think it's a valid concern. But I've experienced what a lot of people here have told me would happen, and that is my nicotine level has dropped with no ill effects whatsoever. And some members on here use zero nicotine juices now. But yes, I would like to know the long-term effects of nicotine on the brain, body, etc without the tobacco element. I'm sure someone has or will do a study eventually, if not already out there. Guess I need to do more homework.
I do know that cigarettes were killing my will to accomplish anything positive in my life, and I mean that literally. I felt like a failure every time I lit one. And Chantix, after three tries, failed and nearly killed me emotionally and mentally, and I think should be removed from the market. This has for me proven to be a lifesaver. I live with my Mom, who forbid me to smoke in the house a few years ago when she just couldn't take it anymore. And she is extremely sensitive to smells, sounds, all that stuff. Very particular, and never even knew I had an e-cig for several weeks till I showed it to her. I'd been vaping in the house for over two weeks! She never knew. I showed it off for the first time today to a smoker at work who desperately wants to quit, a middle aged woman like me, tried lots of stuff like us all. And she was fascinated. She said she'd stop here tonight! I let her try my KR808 I keep in my apron at work. I hope she gives it a try. I'm going to take her one of my spares to try next week when I see her again and let her keep it for the next week. I never in a million years would have thought this could work. But I was at the end of my rope, emotionally, mentally, and certainly physically. I couldn't breathe anymore and was using inhalers, and I don't have asthma. And that can't be good for you.
But I'm glad you posted this question. Someone smarter than me must know of more research available on this subject.
