Made a start on an online version : Vaping Buzzz: E-Liquid
Just one row so far, but it does auto-calculate.

Wrote the XML parser and ajax display part earlier this evening and checked it with a dummy file; still to do: the XML writer and the sql / database.

Hopefully it will look the same, work in the same way, and most importantly be able to share the same data files.

The online one will become a searchable, sortable database of recipes, that one can download and run on desetRat's software too for convenience.

And hopefully tie-in a Flavorings database too (ingredients, which have oils or colors, etc.)

Nice work desrtrat, thanks for sharing.

Fwiw, it runs on Windows 7 just fine but throws a couple "file being copied is older..." notices, I chose to "keep existing version" and it's all good.

I wonder how many ppl mistake you for Bubbles. :)

Thanks BriDog67! Yes, I got the "you're copying files older than current" messages on my Vista install too (I mention it in the README.TXT file), the app will work just fine with the latest greatest. This app was developed on an XP box so it doesn't necessarily have all the newest stuff but should work just fine on newer machines.

Kudos to you for recognizing Bubbles..It was a tossup for me between using Bubbles or Ricky haha

The online version is ready - runs entirely in yur browser.

The form that can calculate % ml and drops for each ingredient and checks the total %. Also allows you to set the total volume amount to make and even set how many drops per ml to base the calculations on.

You can save the result as plain text and download an XML file for sharing.

DesrtRat and I hope to make these two systems interoperable :)

Ok guys I'm guessing neither of your applications are backward compatable, ie work on W98SE. Right? Still it is fantastic of all of you to work on this, I pick up bits and pieces to add to my spreadsheet along the way.
One nice thing you might want to add in the about section is who you got the inspiration from to create it if it's not there.

Although I can't guarantee it, I would bet that it would work on W98. If you're feeling lucky, give it a shot (but back up your stuff first hahaha..)

LOL desrtrat yes I wouldn't try it without a backup first. Thought XP was written in a new language, thus programs written in it wouldn't work on older DOS based machines. May give it a try later in the month and will post back the results if I do.

I really think the perfect solution for everyone to be able to use all of this would be to make it into a html file with the use of scripts. Zip them all up and then people could use them.

I also vote this becomes a sticky.

The online e-liquid Recipe Calculator results can now be saved as either plain text (copy and paste from screen after click on 'save') or downloaded as an XML file.

E-Liquid Recipe Calculator

edit: The database is now set up and recipes can be stored there (only if you select to 'Add to Database').

edit: database retrieval is also working now :)

Desrtrat, Thx again- I have been playing w/ your original since yesterday... I asked a few questions around on suggestions from some of the experts in the field... I got some good tips- THEN, I saw your base recipe... I don't know, I must have been playing around so much I didn't stop and look at the base that pops up... LOL
TY, I can go by that too...
I will probably venture out into the XML version later... I work mostly from my laptop so may DL it to my desktop just for storage purposes...
This along w/ the calculator program will make everything so easy- Ummm then to taste test it all- LOL
Oh Yeah! A definite sticky! especially for DIY noobs!

LOL! Thanks...life became a lot easier once I stopped caring what people thought and embraced my dorkiness hahaa ;)

If there's a key to well-being, this is it. Compassion, empathy, etc. follow from escaping the bondage to notions of conformity, or imposition of character. Freedom is not simply reacting to one's surroundings - or becoming a bubble; the good follows true awareness of 'what is' rather than ideas of 'what should be' (the 'here and now').

Sounds easy, but we have a brain full of 'stuff' ...
