Crash, thanks for all the video reviews -- I love your man-in-the-street style, no nonsense, just the facts, ma'am. :)

I'm still new, and I really like my 901. I bought a 901 kit for my mom, but it's just too much for her. She's 77 and in early stages of dementia, so all the filling, cleaning, etc. was just too overwhelming for her.

After watching this review, I've decided to order a DPV9 for her. I think this will be a lot easier for her. I've also been looking at the disposables, but they seem way too expensive for everyday use.

Thanks again for your terrific vids -- I really enjoy watching them.

Well all you need is 2 carts and if ya smoke it like a regular cigg, then you're sorted. I'm sure she would love it.

Big thanks, Crash. It's always refreshing to encounter people with a desire to help others on the internet. It's what discussion forums are all about.

I ordered the DPV9 (2 black batteries that go better with the green carts IMO) and two 5 count boxes of cartomizers. Ship time was pretty good (in and out of customs no problem). Ordered on a Tue. and recieved today (the following Wed.). Packaging could have been a lot better IMO. No manual to speak of which would have been nice considering I'm new (even though it is pretty straight forward).

I got the Cola and Watermelon carts. Watermelon has good flavor with a really good throat hit. I seem to be getting more vapor with the Cola and a much more pronounced flavor, but less throat hit. I think I like the Cola better. But all in all I'm really happy with the taste considering my first e-cig was a Smoke51 w/ 4mg carts that produced great vapor, but no flavor or throat hit at all. I'm off "analogs" for good thanks to this device.

No, not at all. Takes 2-3 good drags before vapor is produced most of the time though. I think the carts are either flooded or dry from not being used yet.
kool, thanx for the info jboze, i think i'm finally out of questions hehe...i can't wait for the blank cartomizers & manual batts to start showing up :p i wish 510s had a cartomizer adapter, but since that's not an option, the dpv9/808/etc. will do just fine

honestly, if it wasn't for my need to drip in my atomizers with whatever flavor i want (mix and match even), i would've stuck with strictly the dpv9. it's just too simple and perfect to pass up. at one point it was my "out and about" model while i used my 801 passthrough for when i was home - and even then i would use the dpv9 when i was away from the computer.

i sure do miss vaping. damn that pneumonia.

The DPV9 gets the airflow through the battery. The 901 gets airflow through a little hole in the atomizer. That's why you can't really use a 901 battery with the cartomizer.

You can use a 901 atomizer on the DPV9 battery if you wanted to....
me again hehe last question, i'm buying one anyways, but considering what u just said, how does the 901 atty pull with the dpv9 battery...considering it has more airflow in both the atty & battery?

That results in too much airflow and a lot more sucking. Blocking the holes at the battery point works though, obviously :).

I have not found that to be the case, although I use the RN4075 rather than 901 atomizers. It does not have the air gaps in the atty thread that allows air to flow through the thread so pretty much blocks up the hole in the battery thread.

I much prefer to use the black DPV9 batteries due to the extra capacity and in my opinion they work just as well as a normal 901 battery.

Crash I know you are done with new mods but nHaler is coming out with their xHale that will be compatible with the cartomizers. It will be a 901 and KR or DPV unit. lol... any chance you might do a review of that one??? he he..

To be honest man I'm saving up to move to Australia, so pretty much saving up every penny that I can, but maybe if its not too pricey.

yo crash! i just bought a DPV9 usb passthrough kit from eastmall. i was hoping you would know some stuff about the usb passthrough. maybe its the same, b/c it shuold be, but you never know. i read your reviews and decided to go and order the USB passthrough for my home enjoyment when i'm on the computer. i also have a 510 and a 901. my first e cig was a m403. all three are definately reliable e-cigs. i am also planning on buying a 801 and maybe another battery for my DPV9 when it comes in.

Well the DPV9 PT is pretty much the same thing as DPV9 except you dont have to worry about the batteries dieing, personally I'm not a fan of PT's, I think what some of us love about the DPV9 is the whole 2 piece thing, and the cartomizers really bring out the flavor in the juices in my opinion.

The guys from Eastmall are very active on the forums and have a great reputation here amoung other users. That's where I place most of my orders. I've also ordered from Health Cabin and Heaven Gifts in the past and had good luck with them as well. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them. Which one I order from depends on what I'm ordering more than anything else. They carry much the same product line, but some things are different.

I've bought from heaven gifts once and eastmall a good few times. The only reason I personally prefer eastmall is because I've always received great customer service from them. Ed over at eastmall is really helpful and he personally makes sure that no customer has a bad experience while purchasing from them.
