Did they kill the article? The link doesn't take me there, and searching the Foxnews.com site doesn't bring it up.

Try this link: http:// www. foxnews. com/opinion/2013/09/12/e-cigarettes-let-make-them-available-by-prescription-only/#comments

I wasn't able to view the comments from OP's link, so I went in through the front door (fox news home page) and it still seems to work. Hope this helps.

Edit: The comments page won't load, however.... hmmm... Maybe Dr. Marc's having a hissy fit...

The link was intentionally broken, lest I drew the ire of a crotchety old ex-Marine: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...g-links-junk-science-other-rubbish-posts.html

It'll work fine if you restore the "http://" and close in the space between the "." And the "com"

I "unbroke" the link and got the article, but there was no "comments" button on the page. That's when I went thru fox news home, then opinion, then clicked on Dr. Marc's article, and then I got the comments button to click on. (But the fox website has been wonky on me all day, so who knows...?) I bookmarked the comments page, but when I clicked on that, the comments wouldn't load, so I went back through the "front door" and got the comments back. Now I'm gonna have a hissy fit,!

And no comment from Bill Godshall...

If you watch Fox News a lot like I do you will notice that Dr. Siegel thinks everything will kill you. His standard answer for everything is to "consult your physicians" before you......... If it were up to him you would need a prescription to get out of bed in the morning.

Just wondering................how many people do doctors kill every year vs. how many die from vaping e-cigs.

Not surprising.

A Bill Godshall comment carries not only a perception of authority, but anti-tobacco credentials--and I don't see Marc Siegel as the sort to suffer anyone sharing his limelight--particularly with a dissenting, articulate voice.

Have you noticed that the bulk of media pieces on vaping feature a series of "expert" testimony on the ANTZ side of the balance--lots of MDs and PHDs--with the sole counterweight being a Joe Sixpack that runs a vape shop in Tupelo, Mississippi?

Good observation about what kind of person Dr. Siegel is.
Also ... good point about the comparison of numbers of people who die each year
taking medical advise compared to the numbers who have died from vaping.

Interestingly, a recent study showed that people who get regular check-ups have more medical problems and die at a younger age compared to people who do not see their doctor on a regular basis. The logic being that if you see your doctor all the time you don't bother to take as good care of yourself. You're being cared for by an "expert" so you don't worry as much about your health on a daily basis. Other studies show that your brain stops working when presented with information from an expert, even the mention that expert testimony is coming reduces brain functioning. Alll that preventative medicine in the new health care law will kill more than just our pocket-book.

Kristin's comment (in part) ...

Please consider having your staff contact The Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives Association for the FACTS, before you make Fox News look even more uninformed and "main stream media" than you already have. You were right to have supported e-cigarettes in the first place and you should still be supporting them - not making silly, baseless opinions based on truth-twisting by the CDC, FDA and the anti-tobacco (who hate e-cigarettes simply because they "look" like smoking and don't require smokers to give up even a safe form of nicotine.)
