I just passed my third week as a vaporer, and just today I feel like I got the draw down, finally. I thought I had it the first day that my ego-c tanks didn't flood three times per fill, and then I thought I had it down again when I removed the two superfluous bridges from the whistle tip, but
no. Today was it.
(I'm now using 2.6-2.8 ohm fluffed fluxomizers on an ego and a maxi roughstack with regular protected 18650s, and think that I'm somewhere in a 4 to 5.5 watt range. Low resistance atomizers or higher voltages I don't know. Presumably that'll make this not as necessary.)
I knew that longer meant more, but couldn't figure out why I couldn't do a true 8 second inhale, even when breathing through my nose the whole time. All I figured out today is that if the draw is gentler, really more of a sip than a pull, then getting the longer draw is easy.
I feel like this is important because I've let quite a few smoker friends and coworkers try my PV (I'm not much of a germaphobe), and they seem to have an across-the-board ....ty time with it. They look bored or annoyed when I try to tell them how to take an inhale, suck on it randomly, cough their faces off, and hand it back with a grimace.
Now, whatever, I'm not trying to put myself on a quest to save every smoker. I know a lot of them think it's weird, insanely expensive, and uncool. I feel like if it isn't legislated into the ground in ten years they're going to look back on their skepticism with a bit of embarrassment. Maybe I'm wrong; maybe they'll just be weaker, sicker versions of themselves right now. Maybe they'll quit cold turkey.
My problem is that my girlfriend now has an exact match of my setup, but isn't touching it. I figured I'd take care of her charging, filling, and maintenance for a while but the second day she forgot it at work, and today when I looked at it she hasn't gone through a mil of juice. Actually, probably less than a quarter of a mil. Nothing, essentially. The inside of the mouthpiece is almost dry. I'm not going to bother to check her state of charge; I know she's at 4.2V.
I'm sort of at a loss on how to proceed. I figured that being able to do it on occasions when smoking a cigarette wasn't possible would let the PV sell itself as an option but if her draw is scratchy or too short I guess I can see why she doesn't really ever think to reach for it instead of her Parliaments.
I know it's only day 3 but I feel a little dejected that she isn't even on the road to enjoying it yet. I mean I didn't enjoy it the first week either, but I used it all day, every day, and the cigarettes I tried smoking quickly became intolerable.
I feel like if I can get a wedge into her smoking routine, ten percent of her cigarette consumption, it can at least have a fair shot.
So inhale tutorial? Stupid idea?
