Dried out cartos

I am relatively new to vaping and refilling cartos. I have a bunch of Volt cartos that I have refilled about 7 times, but I started just refilling the same two or three over and over and left the rest unfilled for a couple of weeks. I have now started using those, and I am finding they don't seem to last too long before they start to taste burnt. Was it wrong to leave them unfilled for that long? Should I keep cartos filled all the time and not let them dry out like that?​

I have never used those, I use boge cartos. If you are going to leave them unused, it is best to put the condoms back on them. If you don' have condoms, saran wrap might work to keep them moist....

Fill it let it rest. And it should absorb more then re fill it. Keep repeating until it stays fully saturated

What method are you using to fill them?
I really like the condom method, but take care to fill slowly especially with a really dry carto.
Think of it like a dry sponge. They don't absorb well until damp.

Sitting dry doesn't mess them up or anything, but refilling a completely dry carto takes some time unless you are using one of the methods to force saturation. If you are just dripping on top, it will seem full when it really needs to rest for an hour or so and then be filled again. Back when I used cartos, if I didn't use the condom method of filling, I'd drip fill them, leave them overnight, and then drip fill them again the next day.
