Just got my SB today... STOKED.

Anyone using a "drip shield" with their SB?

I'm on AV site looking at the LR306.... just browsing around and saw the drip shield cone(DSC).

Wondering if they are "worth it"(do they actually work?), and if it'll fit on the SB?

what parts will I need?

AND:
Has anyone broken their SB by dropping it onto concrete? (I know the housing won't break)
Mostly concerned about soldering? if there is any.....

thanks

Don't know about the "drip shield" but I can tell you that my BB which is a smaller version of the SB has been dropped so many times it's not funny (I'm extremely clumsy) and the only thing it has to show for it is a couple of scratches, still works like a champ. I also remember hearing about the SB being run over by a car with no ill effects. So you should be good :D

thanks for the replies(everyone)

I'm relieved after hearing the first hand accounts... my main concern was the switch/switch components/soldering, busting loose due to a shock/vibrations from being dropped.

I had a look in the switch area and it's "potted"(at least the back of the switch area.. couldn't see the 510 connection.) so it should hold up to shock/vibration.

Never mind on the drip shield... the 510 connector is sealed(at least looks like it). I was mainly concerned of juice getting in the switch area.

thanks

this thing is awesome... the button is the best part IMO. (everything is good)

Only things to make it "better"(IMO) would be HAIII(hard anodizing) and a user replaceable/serviceable switch.(but user servicable/replaceable would probably be tough to implement in the current design with the "potting" in place)..... EDIT TO ADD: just another thought, some knurling would be awesome.(again IMO).. lanyard loop, pocket clip.

my only complaint- I'm getting too much constant vapor.(and yes I'm just kidding)

Thanks for a great product Altsmoke.
