Seriously? Several weeks?? I get about 3 days from them...sometimes more...and then taste goes off or they perform poorly. I go through at least 2 packs a month. But...at $7.95 a pack, it's not a huge deal. :) It cost me roughly $50 a month to vape, saving me $150 per month vs smoking. YAY vaping!

i have a rotation of 5-10 flavors that I vape daily, but even my go-to vape lasts at least a week. Perhaps because my PV is 5.5 volts, the degradation is not as apparent?

it puts more strain on the battery. Its simple if the battery is resisted less, is using more power and will not last as long. More battery usage = less battery longevity. I'm unaware of any exponential value with this. I've asked on a couple threads if anyone knows of an exponential decrease in battery life on the joye 510 when using LR and have not got any responses other than the generic it lowers battery life.

i don't know if it's possible to be able to nail it down to a set value, as it all depends on the user. The only way to truly get a set value would be to attach a LR atty to one battery, a normal atty to another, and hold the buttons down until the batteries die, but unfortunately the atties would pop first.

you could try putting a greater load on each battery, perhaps a 160 ohm resistor(to represent the 1.6 ohm LR) and a 250 ohm (to represent the standard atty), do the same test, then divide the amount of time by 100, but that's assuming that batteries have linear discharge rates, which they don't, and that the resistors resistance will not change as it heats up, which it will, but at least it will give you some numbers to work with.

I see. Yes, my biggest complaint, and reason I toss them, is that the flavor goes wonky after a while. The carto would probably keep going much longer, but I can't get over the difference in flavor. Running at higher voltage probably keeps that from happening to your juices much longer. I haven't the time or desire to wash the cartos out like some folks do.

I agree that this would be a good test.

FOUND IT!!!! http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/madvapes/127262-about-low-resistance-specific-batteries.html

It appears zen has some technical knowledge of what LR attys do to certain batteries/power supplies.

Good find guitardedmark, good posts in that thread... kudos zen~

Yeah, there are other threads on this too (I answered several, and linked back to that also). If hoogie76 says it's so, I go with that. Now, lots of people swear by the LR with 3.2 volt vaping experience. And 2.0 ohms can be considered LR. Many LR atties are 1.5 ohm. The 1.5 ones would put even more stress on the MOSFET component/PCB. So... it's a kind of thing where you vape at your own risk with LR stuff... if it works for you cool. Just be aware that your battery (ok, ok, e-cig power supply - sheesh) will likely not last as long as it would with standard resistances - cartos or atties.

Also, good point o4_srt

Interestingly, I use mods at 3.7v, /w discrete (protected) batteries. So... I don't care! NAH NAH NA NAH NAH. LOL. And if my battery fails, it's $5.00. Not $18.00 -> $25.00. But hey, I do like the form factor of the eGo types, less bulky <turns a little green with eGo envy... gets over it fast>

I abandoned the Boge cartos because they had a tendency to burn no matter how wet I kept them, and they flavour tanked after a couple refills.

I abandoned the Joye cartos because they wicked terribly, were horrible to fill, and after a couple refills the polyfill material started to fuse together at the end and they vaped like crap.

Been tooting away on XL E2 cartos for a while now, they take a couple minutes to PTB mod, couple minutes to refill, there's no filler to fanny about with, and when flavour does take a turn for the worse I can just dry burn them, run some water through, dry burn again and they're as good as new.

I didnt think the Joye cartos had polyfill. Are you sure they have filler?

yes they have filler..... i stated that earlier in the thread.. the boges have poly type filler and the joye have a paperish folded type or vice versa.....

(and thats not bc i use e2's lol)

You right. I was confused because I read a post where someone said they didnt have poly filler and so I thought they didnt have any filler. Thanks for clearing it up!
