Drip Tip, What am doing Wrong?

I have an inferno from volcano (510) ... standard atty that came with it. I bought an annodized alluminum drip tip, looks very nice. I try to drip through the drip tip, but it seems the drop would just catch on the side inside and just run down the side and not hit the bridge at all?

If I remove the drip tip and drip 3 drops right on the bridge and put the tip back on, it just doesn't taste good and feels like its just burning or something? If I add like 5 drops, it makes a gurgle sound so I believe I flooded it. I ended up washing the damn atty like 5 times the other day trying to drip??

What am I doing wrong? Why do people drip when it doesn't taste better and is hard to do?

How long does each drip last?

I'd actually prefer to drip... these carts seem messy and the stuffing inside catches on the bridge or something else happens and its annoying... always trouble.

Its ok to flood your atty, just VAPE through it. I use a drip tip, but I found that I like pulling it off every time to drip, if I try to drip through it, I'm ALOT more likely to end up with a mouth full of juice. So I pull off the drip tip, drip 3 drops in it, and VAPE away till I can't taste it any more. Usually about 5 drags or so. If I'm having some bad flavors, I blow out the atty, so the juice comes out the battery end. Then it is a dry atty, so I drop like 5 drops in it, let it sit for a moment, then VAPE. Or if the flavor was REALLY bad, that first time I drip back in the atty, I let it sit for a while, till it starts leaking out the bottom, then I blow that juice out the end. I then put 4-5 drops in it and VAPE that. I have found if I wash an atty, that it doesn't work well unless I let it sit for a week, or if I do a dry burn.
But to let you know, I usually have a little bit leak out of the bottom of the atty when I am dripping. I found that 4 drops ALWAYS will leak out. Three drops will leak out if I still have some left in the atty, and two drops will never leak, but also it is never enough juice for vaping. I hope I've helped some, and not just confused you.

Also when you are dripping, the bridge isn't needed at all. So if you are getting every drop to hit the bridge, then that might be your problem. The bridge is in an atty to move the juice from a cartridge to the coil on the bottom of the atty, so just drip around the bridge, and it will run down to the coil. The coil on the bottom is what heats up and causes the vapor. The bridge is just the path that the juice takes to get to the coil from the cartridge.

I have inferno also. I only drip. If you don't want to vape thru the over flow, get a paper towel, cover the threads and bottom, blow it out. then wipe off the thread and take a hit. Then start dripping. 2 - 3 drops. That should last 5-7 good hits. Once you get the inferno working, it is a beast. I got Standard Magma attys, 1.5 Magma Atty, Cisco 306, 1.5 LR 510 and 1.8 LR 510. I working to find the best atty for my juice. So far the 1.5 LR 510 cisco is good but my juice seems to kill it in 2 days. I just got my 1.8 cisco hopefully that holds up longer.
If you want, try taking the bridge out. I did it to 2 magma attys and both still working altho I dont use them much since LR is so much nicer. Be careful tho taking bridge out may damage atty if not done with care. Best to practice on atty thats like a month old. And have other attys to use.

Maybe you can help... I have the standard stuff that came with the inferno... what should I do? grab some different attys? can you link me to them? I didn't know I wasn't supposed to drip onto the bridge, lol.

I don't have problems dripping to bridge. I just took mine off cuz I was curious after seeing a video on youtube. If I were you I would get more attys. You can get attys at alot of places. Volcano sells them on the accessories page for the inferno that's where I got my attys. I also go to avid vaper. Also try the Customer Service line. They are very helpful. I remember the day I got my Inferno...I actually went to fed ex to pick it up b/c they said No one was home. It was 9:25pm I was in the car driving home and Drip and vape. It worked from day 1. I not sure why your atty is acting up unless there is still primer in your atty. But since you said you've cleaned it 5 times, I doubt it. I would also try a different juice.

2. You need to shake down the drops. Couple of drops in the drip tip, then holding the ecig vertically give it a single shake downward to send the juice down to the atty. If the atty was dry, then wait a minute with the ecig vertical to let the juice soak down to the coil.

It's pretty new... got it last Saturday, im guessing primer is off it now.

ok... so I put in 3 drops or so... then shake it down, or sit it upright with the battery side down and let it sit for a few mins, that sould work?

Just let it sit for a minute and that should be fine. Once you've got your atty primed, you can just vape until the vapor production drops off then add a couple more drops.

The drip tip you are using can make a big difference too. For 510s, the Ming drip tip works really well, it's shaped like a vase, and you can see the juice that you are dripping. For 306s, the clear Cannon drip tip is just perfect. You can order both from CherryVape.

Some drip tips seem to end up with a pool of liquid, but both of these don't have that problem for me.

When I started trying to drip I tried bridged and de-bridged attys, it really didn't matter because at the time I ran into the same issues as you are. I ended up always flooding the atty, experienced the same issues with dripping through the tip, it did take some practice to do. A few months later to today I drip almost exclusively if I have a choice, only time I don't is driving long distances, I'll use an eGo-T or a cart.

Personally the flavor that you get when you drip is much fuller, I hate the way carts/cartos and even the eGo-T taste. I am too used to dripping and end up trying to vape faster than they can wick making it taste bland. You can try de-bridging if you are curious, though I don't do it anymore. I just pull the drip tip off and drip right on the bridge without any issues. De-bridging didn't seem to make much of a difference to me, and I ended up needing to top it off more often than if the bridge was left in place. I use 510s, when it starts to taste funky I drop 3 drops and continue on my way.

If you stick with it, you'll get it.
