It's glass all the way for me! For some reason I find any plastic gives me a dirty feeling, like it's never clean. Metal feels the cleanest, but not nice on the lips personally. Glass just feels natural, and being crystal clear it's easy to see when it needs a little clean with a cotton bud/Q-Tip! Pyrex glass is a lot tougher than most people imagine.

Just as a point if interest, the carbon fibre drip tips mentioned in this thread are basically plastic, polyester resin in fact, the binding agent that holds the carbon fibre together and gives it the gloss finish.

Silicone is good, especially for driving - avoids chipped teeth!

I like short drip tips mostly, a short as tip on a kayfun looks brilliant.

Glass is nice, feels good and looks great

Wood is also nice, has a pipe like feel to it and looks different.

Haven't tried stone, will do now though.

Glass is stone that happens to be transparent to the human visible eye spectrum.

I also just got one made of stone but alas…it doesn't fit any of my tanks :(

I keep 3 sizes of o-rings on hand for tips that don't fit. I get them out of the plumbing section at Home Depot (I'm sure any hardware store will have them) sizes #60, #36 and #47 made by Danco. Label is usually blue and white. Hope this helps. If the core is stainless steel-these will not help as it is the SS core that is too big. I have some with the SS Core that will not fit some of my rebuildables :(.

I still like my cheap plastic ming as it fits comfortably in my mouth. Currently trying and loving most these shorty and ming style wood drip tips. Yes, it's wood! The plastics and god awful metal calabash tip were ok and vaping kept me off cigarettes the last 250 days but wood is the is working best for me so far. Ordered the tips online but I know now, after trying them, these fell from heaven! I only vape tobaccos and enjoying Desert Ship last couple of days and tips doing well.

My wife is allergic to surgical stainless steel. Found out from ear ring posts. Her lips started blistering from the non removable chrome-y steel tips. We bought some tip covers cheap and solved the problem.

If she likes metal tips maybe try titanium?

A selection of pretty glass or ceramic tips in her fav colours would also make a nice gift.
