Drippers, when do you change out Atomizers?

I've been dripping for about a month now and love the quality of vape and flavor! Luckily, I've never broke an atomizer, even after de-bridging. There's been two atomizers (my first two) that I'd switch off between for that month.

When do you change to a new atomizer? When the vapor production decreases? Use it until it pops or doesn't product any vapor what-so-ever?

Have you noticed that when it is getting old or worn, does it leak more??

I've been getting about 2 months out of each atty. I use them until they don't produce good vapor then try to clean them with iso. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. If not then I'll try a dry burn, and again it works sometimes. I've only had a couple of atty's just outright die on me and they were due to retire anyway. I haven't noticed that they leak more when they're nearing their end.

I use 'em (I'm a dripper)... until they lose their optimal vape production, or they die.

In the first scenario, I've had some just start lagging... not producing, given everything being equal (voltage, juice)... these go into my bin "to be cleaned... atty resurrection method... see thread)

Attys do die... hope you get a lot of use out of them before that... I do.

If you are using Variable voltage, or High Voltage, Make sure you know the resistance spec (Ohm) of the atty and NEVER hit it with more power than it's designed to handle...

Firing a dry atty can toast it too... as far as I know...

Thanks for the replies! I fired up a brand new atty last night and, wow, that one is producing much more than my two in rotation. I think it's time to try some cleaning/dry burn resurrection method...

So atty do not tend to leak more the older and more used they get? Any ideas why just one of my attys is starting to leak more than usual? I'm real tedious about how many drops are in there

I've heard that gunk can build up on the wick so it can't hold as much liquid. I haven't experienced this that I'm aware of but the theory seems sound. Perhaps the juices you're using are causing a problem? I know some juices will clog my atty in short order, but I can usually just blow them out and keep on vaping. Those juices usually never get used again.

I switch them out every 2-3 days. The one I was using then gets an isopropyl alcohol bath, is left to dry, and gets back in line.

The isopropyl alcohol method works better as a preventitive measure than it does at fixing an atomizer that's already dying. If you do it once or twice a week, you can get a lot more than 2 months out of an atomizer. I've only lost one atomizer in 9 months. Even some of my oldest atomizers still perform about as well as a new one.

It's only a couple minutes of your life a week, and it saves you a lot of money.

I have only had a handful of attys actually die on me in the 11 months I have been vaping. I usually toss an atty to the side when performance weakens or It gets a biurnt taste that won't leave.

I don't believe in cleaning attys unless it's to get out flavor I don't like.

I used to use 90% isopropyl alcohol until I started modding and realized there was a rubber isolator between the center pin and the outside threads. Now I won't use isopropyl alcohol anymore because it dry rots rubber very quickly.
