Last night I attempted to drip for the first time with my 6 week old 901 atty.

After one puff my atty was dead! :(

I blew it out and let it drain overnight and this morning it was still dead.

Is there anyway to get this atty working again or have I killed it?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated?

I hate the primer taste on the replacement atty:(

STILLSMOK9....I find that odd that your first attempt at dripping would "Kill" your atomizer. I have "flooded" several atomizers in the past..but have never had one die from dripping. If the atomizer in question is completly cold(will not fire up at all),then I am afraid it's day is done.I would try blowing it out, adding a one or two drops and seeing if it will fire up.Some people would consider 6 weeks of use quite good. How was it functioning before you dripped? My conclusions in regards to dripping is that it does not impare atomizer longevity..and I have dripped with 901's 801's and 510's without failure!....Try a new one if you can and see what happens...Good Luck!:)The wiz!

Thanks Wiz!! :)

I think it actually did last 7 weeks of heavy abusive vaping;-)

FYI For all you that clean ur attys , I never hardly did anything to maintain it such as cleaning or draining...

If you are able to measure the resistance you can determine if it is truly DEAD.
Normal resistance should be around 3 to 4 ohms measured between the outside and center contacts of the atomizer. If it reads in this range then it should be salvageable.

If it is very much higher like in the hundreds of ohms or above then it is truly DEAD.

Thanks framitz! We need tech support from time to time here;-)

Nice info..

I never put any juice in the cart and I just lost my first atty yesterday after over 3 months of nico-blazing.

I use a homemade battery box mod,and I drip at least 5 drops into the atty...sometimes as many as 8 drops.

If the atty floods I just blow out the excess juice into a napkin and re load the atty with a few drops and vape away.

I never clean or drain my attys in any other way.

I was starting to think these things last forever,
Good luck!

I too have been vaping on the same atomizers for over 3 months. I consider myself a heavy user(vape every hour) I have close to 36 spare attys for my cigs, just because I took in everyone's bad experiences when I first started.. Never had any problems with my 4 original attys.

I drip, but I also often times use the carts. I saturate the atty's too.

The only diy liquids I use are menthol, no flavor additives other than flavored liquid that has been purchased from a retailer.(probably negligible.)

I don't clean them, or use solutions....
I do use mods with semi-higher voltage, between 4-5 volts at 1+amps.

I'm not saying they won't eventually burn out...but what are the chances that 4 different attys, with constant use stay functional for so long?

Wiz....I am new to ecigs and ordered two RN4072 pen style ecigs from esmokeytreats. The directions instructed not to drip directly on the atty. I believe this is the same style as the 801 and if so I am going to try and drip directly on the atty. Am I correct on the 4072 and the 801 being the same style? Thanks :thumb:

RATS....Yes same model..different part number!..Generally all kits say not to drip directly on the atomizer...I have thrown all those bookets in the trash!!..As mentioned previously..dripping with consistant(once a week for me)cleaning...is the only way to travel!!Enjoy you new 801's!!:)The Wiz!

The vendor and manufacturer, Best E-cig actually advocates dripping:
How to use E-liquid(E-smoking liquid)
Actually framitz,Best is where I buy my 801 atomizers, and they mention both direct dripping or refilling carts.I will advocate Dripping any day of the week as opposed to refiliing carts! I would recommend that those using commercial batteries or passthroughs be careful of how much you drip into the atomizer,to aviod liquid getting into the battery. That will most likely shorten the life of the battery.2-3 drops max IMO!!:)The Wiz!

That's right Wiz for sure---For over 9 months I never dripped once becuase of this myth. After Wiz told me to give it a try due to a much better throat hit, I can report that my atomizers last a lot longer with dripping. With all of my research and use (especally with the RN4072 and the BE112), in my book, this "no dripping" rule is garbage and actually keeps the atomizer cooler leading to a longer lifespan due to the leads not overheating. With proper maintanence cleaning, I now advocate dripping.

I never really was keen on any cartridge material use in the first place---especally the polyester core. Dripping takes any issues of that right out of the equation IMO--------Sun
