I have been dripping my V2 all day long at work. It is great until the atty dies. Then you put another on thinking its going to last you another 5 working days. It fails after 2 hits and now your really .......

I posted the bad failure rates on the 901s in another thread. A few people suggested that I go to the 801s so I bought some from PS. They have lasted longer but only an average of 5 days. I drip 3ml per day, so after approximately 15 ml, they are dead - Zero ohms on the meter.

Is this about the life of an 801?

Then, I pull out a brand new one and it pops after 2 hits. Now I have just spent $8 on 2 hits. I bought the 5 pack from PS and fortunately have a couple left - lets hope they work longer. Does PS warranty the ones that POP instantly?

1-2 weeks on an 801 is about what i get. 5 days isn't too bad, if it dies after 2 hits, you probably ran it to dry.

Because the only thing that can cause a short is if the center post and the thread part of the atomizer are touching. This can only happen if the center post has been pushed up to far and damages or detached the silicon oring.

Perhaps you are right, but I compared it with the one that had been working for 5 days and the center post seems to be exactly the same height above the ground area. I pulled it up a tad with some needle nose pliers and still a dead short. I believe it is defective and the short lies within the screen area. This weekend I will saw off the surrounding metal shell inspect the wiring. I am a Electrical Engineer, so chances are, I can figure out what really happened.

I will let you know. Thanks again.

Let us know but if it worked at one time the only way something can move inside the atty's is by the movement of the center post.

I know this is going to sound crazy but I never had this problem until I got my V2. Do not misunderstand I LOVE my V2 and order from Nhaler all of the time but I am killing some attys let me tell ya. I do not get it. I have plenty of other devices including the Protege and this does not happen. I will say the V2 is the only 5 volt device I own. Does this have something to do with it?

Let me recap. This atty was pulled out of a new package and screwed on my V2. I dripped 4 drops, took 1 primer hit, and 1 full hit. On the 3 hit the atty died. Seems like a defect to me.....

I use 510 mostly, but also use 801s (hight bridge true DSE). It usually takes 8-10 drops to prime those. So I'm thinking it was a little dry.

901's on my v2 last me a few weeks usually, then when I check them the resistance is much higher. On a completely dry atty I prime with 6 drops take 2-3 puffs and add 4 more. From then on it's 4 drops to top off.

From past reviews it seems the sturdiest atomizer is the BE112, which works with the V2 with the 801 adapter. Just got a couple of them in and really like the vapor output.

But to tell you the truth I use mostly KR8/Atomz on my V2 when away from home and can't drip. I get a good 1-2 weeks out of one as long as I keep it well filled.

How often do you have to refill them on your V2?

I'm currently using a 510 with carts and have to top off every hour or so on my V2 (with constant use at home). On my Protege, I can go almost half a day at work before needing to top off (using it about once an hour).

Well... Since moving to from the prodigy to the protege, my attys last longer than 2 weeks, much longer. I got my protege in November of 09 and have lost one atty during this time. I work from home and the protege is constantly being hit.

The prodigy however, would just eat up my atomizers. None would last longer than two weeks, if I were lucky.

Personally, I think burning at 5+v is just eating the atomizers away, decreasing the life span greatly. My guess is that atomizers were never meant to be burned that high and then the mod market is pushing them beyond their limits. Just a guess, I have no real data to prove it, but only my own personal experience with the two types of devices.

i have been using the same be112 atty for almost 6 weeks now,i use it on the v2 at 5 volts and the GLV at 5 volts, and this is very consistant of the be112,i havent heard anyone blowing out there attys,i do it at least 4 or 5 times a day,to much juice in the atty causes it to work harder thus shorter life,,k9frog
