Pretty much what the thread titles says. It's my 2nd day with this atomizer and no matter what I do I'm getting that dry painful hit.

I know that darker thick juices can gunk up and kill a cartomizer....can it do the same to an atty? I recently used a really dark juice, maybe for about an hour of use...thought it was just the juice, but when I went back to a different juice that I had no problems with whatsoever perviously...I was still getting those HORRENDOUS scratchy hits.

It's not that the atty is dry...I over dripped a few times trying to compensate.

Does it just need a cleaning, or is this bad boy dead already? :(

Oh...and it's an unbridged 1.5 ohm 510 atomizer.

Hi,
I don't have a solution to your problem, but I wanted to join you in your issue with dripping.
I'm pretty new to vaping and recently received a LR 501 atty from Vixen Vapors and some drip tips so that I could start dripping. I have an ego t and am not really experiencing the taste explosion of my juices like alot of flavour review videos are, dripping seemed the way to make that happen.
Well, I must be doing it wrong or something but 'scratchy' is exactly what is happening to me too-I tried strawberry, rose candy, macToffee, vanilla, coconut, H2o melon, and they all were horrible...stung my nose while exhaling, scratchy throat, it was harsh! My tanks on the ego were way nicer albeit muted boring in flavour.
Took the excitement of experiencing flavours right out of it. I only put 3 drops in, and even used this 'flavor eraser' from Vixen Vapors in between each juice, ( followed the directions to a T).
I overdripped by 4 drops or so too, with no improvement.
If this is dripping, I don't like it!
Just adding my experience to yours!:)

PS: the nic levels vary from 24mg to 8mg, the 24mg were the most harsh.

The LR attys may be too hot for your taste, I use the Joye SR 306 atty from Cignot together with the 306 drip tip. The SR 306s measure around 2.3-2.5 ohms, which will be cooler than the 1.5 LR attys. The 306 thread is the same as the 510 so you can use them without an adapter. You need to prime new or just cleaned 306s with 5-7 drops, wait a minute or so, then add another 3-4 drops and vape away. You'll know it's time to drip another 3-4 drops when the flavor starts to drop off.

Aside from great flavor and vapor production, a nice thing about the 306s for new drippers is that they have an exposed bridge. If you take off the drip tip and hold your eGo mostly horizontal, you can get a good sense of how many drops will saturate the bridge and wick without overfilling by slowly dripping onto the 4 "sides" of the bridge. Once you develop a good feel for how the 306 works as a dripping atty, you can just leave the drip tip on and drip through it.

You could also try 510 SR attys such as these.

I hope this helps.
