Dripping on a 510 atty

I am sure this question has been asked before, but can't seem to find the information I'm looking for. So I know the rule, or so I have read, is 3 drops on the atty, and about 12 - 3 second drags before you have to re-drip. Is there another way to tell when you need to add more? Any information or a link would be much appreciated....thank you.
P.S. My first week vaping, and am almost totally off analogs.

the way i drip, when i do...is listen to the sound, i add enough juice to where it sort of 'gurgles' when i take a draw...Not so much fluid that it gurgles a lot and you get no vapor tho..once that sound starts going away add a few more drips. If you debridge your atty (there is a post on debridging by shanb) you can directly drip onto the coil/wick and supposedly it helps, cause no juice is stuck in the mesh etc.

Not sure i've ever gotten 12 draw's off of 3 drops from dripping tho, maybe 6 or 7.

I'm using the eGo batt, and I also got some leakage between the batt and the atty. I got about 15 drags, and still getting good vape. I'm using 20vg/80pg. Is that normal, or am I maybe doing alot shorter drags than other people are. I don't seem to notice any burnt taste, and I didn't remove the bridge(still stock from the supplier).

I vape on a de-bidged/wicked 510 atty on a standard ego batt right now and I just wait for the first bad-tasting drag to put a drop or two in again. Also, some primer puffs to get the juice back up into the atty from the thread area works well. There is usually a bit that seeps down. I have to wipe it every so often as well. No biggie when I'm at home, a pain when I'm on the go.
