I've changed my mind. I now prefer dripping .... from the top!

For some unknown reason, the injection method doesn't seem to work out very well. In fact, the results were so ineffective that I was beginning to think that the problem must be the juice I was using. For, I simply was not getting a good vape at all.

Then, in trying to eliminate the inconvenient vaping techniques required to overcome the larger air-hole notches, I decided to replace the white cap with a whistle-style mouthpiece from a 901 cart. Not only did this mod work out extremely well (in terms of making good hits very easy to get), but it also made access to the top of the cart as simple as could be.

So, with this newfound easy access to the top of the cart, (and the fact that I had noticed that my results in dripping through the battery hole were a little superior to what I was getting in injecting), I decided to try dripping from the top. And let me tell you, I couldn't be happier with the results!

3 observations:

-After a few days of using & refilling my first cartomizer, I see how it's becoming less absorptive. It helps to refill over a paper towel or something, & to let the refilled cart sit & settle for a few minutes before use.

-I like to use the rubber caps to protect the mouthpiece between sessions. I think that quickly refilling the cart & putting one of the rubber caps back on the mouthpiece increases pressure in the chamber, & forces liquid into the battery end. Again, letting the refilled cart settle before use should help. If I refill a cart for later use, I keep it disengaged from the battery, then put the rubber cap on the mouthpiece.

-I'm not vaping all day every day, but I still find myself refilling the cart before use. While the Nebula performance drops a bit as the battery discharges & the liquid dries up, I think it's important to resist the temptation of early refills. It hedges against overfilling, which is wasteful, & is an opportunity to see just how far a cartomizer will go before refilling or changing.

Funny you say that, i pulled the black cover off mine too. haven't gotten the sticky off yet, maybe tonight.

You may already know this, but a quarter-sized spot of zippo-style lighter fluid on a paper towel will remove the adhesive residue with remarkable ease. Just follow up with a water-moistened towel, dry, and you're good to go.

Any possibility of posting a pic of the mouthpiece mod? I have some 901 carts but I can't seem to figure out what you did.
(*hopeful thanks*) :)

Kerri,

Glad to hear you got it going, but it just seems to me that the cartomizer functions better with the ring
installed all the way down to where the 'polyfill' begins. From what I can tell, the juice is supposed to
flow from the outer 'polyfill' to the inner atomizer blanket, to the atomizer wick and coil that are wrapped
up in that blanket. And I think that the ring helps facilitate this flow.

Whatever works for you, works for you, of course; but I'm curious as to why you would have problems
with the ring in place. I suspect that you either have a slightly different mouthpiece than mine, or that
you have the smaller air-hole notches. If it's the latter, then instead of removing the ring, you might want
to try just removing the small single-hole plug in the tip of your mouthpiece.

weird. just looked at the mouth pc from a 901 atty- it's different from the carts I have- shorter insert bit. it works with the o-ring. the other one pushed it too far up and no draw was possible.
thanks again!
