A drip atomizer is just a rebuildable coil with a wick. You just drip liquid onto a wick instead of filling up a tank with juice. It taste better because you are able to make a coil to your liking, obviously being able to make a 1.4 ohm coil will produce more heat, and more vapor being produced, giving more flavor (compared to a 2.0 ohm coil). It can also depend on what wick you use, everyone says cotton because it taste better, and I couldn't agree more. Inexpensive rda's are definitely the igo series. Preferably the Igo-w or Igo-l which run for about $15 or less depending on the vendor. If your a beginner and this is going to be your first rda an Igo series rda is a must have, perfect for beginners.

what are you going to be using it on?

the purpose of a dripper is the juice is more directly in contact with the coil, having more juice touching the coil creates a better taste profile when set up correctly. Of course that is a matter of oppinion and some will prefer the flavor from tanks. Me personally they are all the same but I have a issue with taste that is linked with my inability to smell.

I would watch some video's on youtube about set up so you can see the break down of the atmoizers as well as how they are rebuilt. My favorites are the trident clone, igo-w3 as they have adjustable air flow and Im looking at getting a helio as well .

Forget about the helio, if you have enough money I would HIGHLY suggest you getting the Zenith v2 rda. It has adjustable airflow aswell and it will be the best rda you ever use.

So from what I understand it's basically just a tank that you only put a couple drops in and then it somehow tastes better? Could you guys give me some more details because I can't find anything it seems. Also, any inexpensive ones you would suggest?

PS, finally completely off analogs for 23 days:)

Yay for being off analogs!

Drippers are very simple and easy to use. You build a coil/wick arrangement, drip your juice, and vape. I only have one dripper--Tobeco Patriot clone which I got for $14. I'm sure there are better ones, but I love the Chitriot, anyway.

You will need:

Digital multimeter to measure the resistance of your coil.
Kanthal wire, 28, 30, or 32 gauge. If you have Android, use Vaper's Toolbox to figure out how long to cut the wire for the resistance you're aiming for.
Some organic cotton balls to spin into wicks. You can also use silica (1-3 mm), Peaches&Cream cotton yarn, cotton gauze, etc.

There are hundreds of videos on youtube which show you how to build and install the coil and wick.

There are many of us that started dripping way before there was such a thing as an atomizer that you could rebuild.
The concept of direct dripping came about when all that was availible were atomizers and cartridges.

    Plug this filled with liquid

    into there
    510%20Atomizers-3.jpg

It was soon found that you could remove the filler from the cartridge and direct dip onto the atomizer, and direct dripping was born. Then drip tips came along. then drip shields, then specialized dripping atomizers, and finally RDA's.

But what about the blue foam???? can't forget the blue foam... old time vapors will understand..

The answer to your question has already been covered.

I have been running some trident clones for a bit. And upgraded to a Trident V2 authentic today and WOW what a difference.

Since your still new to all of this then just take it ez and don't jump into the deep end too soon. Save your pennies and if you feel you need that little bit of an extra then go the RBA route.

I don't want to hijack the OP's thread, but it's on topic and OP might be wondering also.

What is up with drip shields?

I normally use tanks (and lately a new Russian 91). I bought a Kidney Puncher dripper for testing out new juices, and it works fine without a drip shield - once I figure out how many drops to use.

When do you use a drip shield?
