Not sure why I haven't ever experienced any leaks with my 901, not sure if it's because it's a 901, the way I'm dripping or I just got a darn good unit, knock on wood and thank the good Lord, but thus far and I've been vaping I think over a week now on this, and all is good.

Yea, when using the 901 and adapter I did not have the issues with leaking like I did with the 801.

Hahaha.. with the 801 there was a point I was thinking that ****... there must be a hole in the bottom it drips right through and onto the adapter.

The first brand of e-cigs I got was a 4081. Then I got the 901 and the 510 almost at the same time. The 510 gave me problems so I stayed with the 901. I now have over 90, I think it's 92, 901 atomizers so every type of e-cig I buy must be able to be used with the 901. Now I wish I had done the same thing with batteries. But I'm getting there.

I recieved a Prodigy today. I tried both 801 and 901.
I am satisfied with them, but I feel the batteries run down sooner than I imagined.
How long can you folks vape with 801 using a set of fully charged batteries? :(
Taking normal "smoke breaks" it lasts a full day at work (taking a regular "smoke" break about every hour), and up until about 8 that night. I vape a lot more at home though. Non-stop i would expect the battery to last no more than about 5 hours.

I have the 901. I change the batteries each morning, sit at my computer most of the day and vape. Not sure what constitutes a heavy vaper, but I don't change the batteries until late in the evening, sometimes not at all. They last a long time for me. I'd say at least 12 hours. I must not be a heavy vaper :)

Having lots of problems with the 801, Im actually starting to think I might have 2 bad brand new atomizers. I also ordered one with the 901 adapter, and 2 new 901 attys, and those hit like a champ. Id like to think the 801 would give much more vapor from what Ive seen. Even the 901 packs a huge punch. Anyone else have problems with the 801? Seems like no matter what I do, it feels like its pluged. Its like its either underfill or overfill, no inbetween.

I had this issue as have others. After a few charge cycles my batteries now last most all day and evening. Give them a day or two and they should be good to go.

Hey, Mikie.

There's no need for you to continue being so miserable with your 801 Prodigy. I would contact the Puresmoker folks directly and explain what it going on and what measures you have tried to remedy the situation. If the attys you got from Puresmoker are really duds, I know they'll send you some new ones. Maybe there's something wierd with your adapter. I've run out of any other brilliant ideas to offer, but I hate to think of your suffering.

Have you checked the tension of the contacts in your charger? If the batteries aren't held snuggly inbetween the contacts your batteries may not be getting a full charge. If the batteries fit loosely in the charger, try bending the two lower contact arms outward slightly to apply more tension and better contact. Mine last about 6 hrs of pretty good vapin'.

I agree Mike... No reason for you to struggle with those atty's. Theres a reason for the warranty being offered, Don't hesitate to take advantage of it. It sounds to me like the air inlet holes are probably plugged with the white goop (epoxy?) that covers 1/3 the inside of the atty tube.

Thanks Strat. I know its not the batteries, because the thing hits like a champ with the 901 atomizer and adapter I have. PS is sending out some different 801s for me to try. I appreciate you help, thank you.

4-5 drops should net you anywhere between 6-12 puffs :)

I wish I had run across this thread earlier. Here's my experience:

My biggest complaint with e-cigs has been their inability to reproduce the physiological effects of an analog -- not "throat hit", but the "high" associated with the nicotine, even with high-intensity carts. I have tried many e-cigs to find the one that provides this. I always figured that this deficiency was due to my unusual inhalation method -- I first draw into my mouth before inhaling into mylungs. Consequently, I don't take very long draws and get very little throat hit, even from analogs, which is fine by me because I don't like throat hit.

As someone that has always used carts in the past (topping them off when necessary), the concept of dripping was a little scary because I've read horror stories of burning atomizers or batteries with dripping. It is now clear to me that when trying to drip in the past, I have either used too little juice (making me think the device was defective until I tested with a multimeter) or too much, and flooding the atomizer. What I learned here was the proper ratio of #drips/#draws.

Dripping 24mg juice with the Prodigy provides exactly what I have been seeking -- I still get no throat-hit because of my inhalation style, but the physiological effects are much closer to what I get from analogs. Now, thanks to this solution, I've off analogs for good.

These instructions may already be in the user manual (I rarely read these things), but if they are not, Cash ought to consider including them and/or posting a sticky on "Instructions on How to Drip with the Prodigy", specifying the ideal ratio of #drips/#draws, just for the sake of newbies like me that are not accustomed to dripping, and have used carts in the past.

Sorry for the long story. But I must say the Prodigy is an excellent device, although that battery spring should be secured with something more stable than superglue in the future (mine has already become detached, but remains functional). A healthy amount of lead-free solder, perhaps?

Wow...

I just saw a video from the NBC report with what looked like the woman dripping from the battery end of the atomizer!

Does anyone else do it like that? I've always dripped from the mouth and tried to hit the bridge.

Brandon

She was dripping into the battery end of the Vapor King (KR808D-1) cartomizer (i.e., combined atomizer and cartridge). That's the primary way to refill those. Otherwise, you have to take the cartomizer apart.
