You were probably thinking of a rebuildable drip atomizer, which requires you to "drip" juice on the wicks every other hit.

Other components you will definitely need is a tank, the spire vv mod has 510 threading so a tank with 510 threading, i would suggest a some Pro Tank or iClear. Then if it doesnt come with batteries you'll forsure need that to, but thats basically it, the rest is just upgrades. (dont worry about it yet)

Thank y'all for explaining that lol I was fairly confused.. As far as the spire goes, I was also looking at the joytech e-Vic and the tesla? Any advice on which one is better? I'm honestly just trying to get the biggest clouds possible lol

This is kind of a touchy subject. 'cloud chasing' requires a decent amount of knowledge on battery safety and rebuilding. You don't need to go his route to get good vapor production. Try going low ohm (1.5-1.8) and see if that is good for you. If those ohm's do well for you maybe in the future once you have more vaping experience under your belt you can dip into RDA's and building coils. There are multiple safety posts on this forum about battery safety for when you are ready to take that dive into the sub culture that is cloud chasing.

spire is just a zmax with a fancy body. I would save the $40 and get the zmax, unless you are really stuck on the American made thing. Then the spire is a bad idea too, as its only half American made at best.
All that being said, I love my zmax. Wouldn't trade it for anything short of a evolv DNA mod (at least until innokin stuffs that vtr chip in a tube mod or someone makes an equally as rugged sx220 chip mod).
As for the clouds. No. Just no. You'll never get output like that guy out of any but a few regulated mods, and getting it out of mechanicals takes a lot of electrical knowledge. Do it wrong and you risk blowing your teeth out. And if you learn the knowhow and get there you'll see the grass isn't always greener on the other side. You'll get next to no flavor out of a setup like that.
The microcoil genesis sitting on my zmax at 12 watt doesn't push huge clouds. but I'll bet any money i'm getting a nicer vape than the guy in that pic

I'm new to vaping, and I was wondering what dripping is? Also, I'm looking to get a spire vv mod, and was wondering what other components I'll need? Thanks all!

Its where you don't have a tank to hold your eliquid and feed it towards the coil; it's like the kind of early method of vaping before tank and cartomizer systems were developed.

It's not something you need to do in order to vape.

my brother has a z max, its ok. his friend has a tesla and I like that alot more, seems like better qaulity to me. as far a big clouds most people go to mech mods and sub ohm coils for those. you will need IMR or hybrid batteries with a high amp limit, a multi meter and the ohms law calc. use the multi meter to check the coils resistance and battery charge and sorts, when doing the calculation use 4.2v seeing that what most batteries max at. Sony makes a good 30A battery that could handle just about anything you throw at it, but theres many options. also when doing this you will need to drill the air holes out on hte dripper to feed teh coil, I like 3 mm on singles and two 2 mm coils on dual builds. Before trying any of this do alot of research and watch lots of vids. Be safe. Its really not that hard though.

That being said you can still get nice clouds out of a VV device. Look up micro coils. I made a 1.4ohm micro on a igo l for my brothers z max and that sucker will blow huge clouds.

How long did you smoke, and what is your current vaping setup?

A good start battery would be the MVP; best bang for the buck as far as batteries go.

The evic is a good choice for a battery tube, and joyetech is a reputable leader in the industry; perhaps THE leader in a sense.
A comparable choice would be the vtr, which is box shaped.
An outstanding feature of the evic is can plug in for charging, and you can vape while the battery inside it charges. All other battery boxes/tubes that I have seen, you have to take out the battery and put on a separate charger, and put in your other battery.

The Tesla is a mechanical mod; you should stay away from those until you have experience. The average former smoker never gets into mech mods (or dripping).

Power is the more expensive, but easier choice side of things;
the other side of things is the tank that holds your eliquid.

And that guy probably is using almost all VG, and has a mech mod and an RBA running Sub-Ohm (more than likely) I have never blown clouds like that outside of what I just listed. And you really need an extensive knowledge of battery safety, Ohms Law, a multimeter, etc. Not to mention your gonna need to know how to build coils and build them properly.

If I wanted to make big clouds and cared to take the trouble to drip, and forget about the convenience of a tank,
then I'd take the trouble to PLUG IN, and forget about the convenience of a battery too!

I'd just plug in a 12 volt power supply, feed 12 volts to my big home made 10 ohm quad coil in a cup, drip, stick an upside down funnel over it, and VA VOOM

Love the Legal Vapor 4000, I'm just waiting for the ill begotten Vapor 12000 to hit the stores, water cooled to maintain atomizer integrity can clean your swimming pool while vaping. lmao.

Best recommendation is to start out with a quality regulated mod and something like the Aspire Nautilus BDC tank, that will get you going, then if you need more, and get that something is still missing feeling, then look into and good rba, re-buildable atomizer. Then once you become competent at your builds and reach the maximum quality Vape that you mod and rba can provide, you can look into Mechanicals, DNA30, or even the 75 watt capable SuperMax regulated box mod. Lots to consider with even more ways being developed daily to get ou there. Acquiring a collection and learning along the way is all part of the vape journey.

Vape long and Prosper!!

For three or four years up to a pack a day, and before that I was dipping.. I currently have a vision spinner 1300mah with a mini protank 2, I'm just looking to upgrade a bit,
