You pull up to a red light, you realize now would be a good time to redrip. You have your VP in your left hand (still on the steering wheel), with your right hand you drip. You put down your juice, hold your e-cig however you prefer, you wait for the light to turn green and you resume on your way.
Ya know, if that is what you had said to begin with, you would've avoided a lot of strife. But, no, you delighted in giving the impression you were dripping WHILE driving. HUGE difference, don't you think?

I won't say what my suspicions are regarding a "certain" poster on this thread...meh...
And as far as dripping and driving, do whatever you wish. As vapers we already have an uphill climb in being able to keep our right to vape....so, let's just give people more reasons to object, sheesh...

Yes, vaping while driving or dripping is threat number one to vaping. How many vaping related accidents or even near accidents are you aware of? How many coffee or cigarette related?

dont know how to answer now,

NCC, many posts earlier on where about being stationary.

and my misunderstanding about the sudden stop was: "I had to come to a complete stop before making the turn. " it sounded like it wasnt something you had planned to do so were forced to act quicker than normal.

Only a misreading, but my point was about driving, observation, etc. not necessarily your driving.

Stopping in the roadway is always a risk. A risk I'm always aware of. As I said, I saw the car following too closely, and adjusted by turning my turn signal on sooner than I normally would have. The stop was unavoidable due to oncoming traffic in the lane I had to cross to make my turn. The other driver attempted to go around me on the outside (actually, off the road). He/She failed to clear my car and hit me.

Dayum, isn't it something like 4AM in the UK?

Thankfully none so far, but I'm sure there are lurkers who are against our right to vape, on this forum that could use this thread as an argument for negative publicity.
Btw....I know a few officers, wonderful public servants...proud yet humble....

Forget uininformed negative publicity, I'm WITH them, and I'm a very grateful vaper. Get the drippers off the road. I mentioned earlier in this thread that I could (not that I'm a cop) tolerate dripping better on an open highway. In town, they're a threat to everyone else on the road. No ifs, ands, or buts.

As am I :) As I stated earlier in this thread, I was hit and drug by a distracted driver of a fully loaded semi truck...I was sitting at a red light. Then after she hit me...she kept driving like nothing had happened. I'm living with the damages of her distraction. Live and learn but keep on vaping. :vapor:

I only drip and drive under two circumstances, long straight roads where I can hold the wheel with my knee (long legs, not hard at all) and hold the ecig and bottle up in my line of sight, or at a red light. I find that most of my potential for accidents is during babe watching, if you need to turn your head for any reason, that is the moment some idiot will cut out from nowhere and catch you off guard. Lots of ...... from out of state on our city roads, and I find it best to lay off the dripping then and drive like the cop just to stay ahead of the ..... race, I don't hang out in the crowd and wait for a pileup. I've noticed if you refrain from overly excessive displays of speed that cops will let you slide while darting around the ......, they all do the same thing and sometimes even join you in a drift.

I am loving that someone else out there is a one-handed roller, my uncle is an oldschool biker and we've bragged about his his ability to ride and roll his "cigs" with one hand. Rock it like a cradle, lick then one slip of the thumb and it's a done deal. :vapor:

I am no longer an active duty law enforcement officer. I have moved up bit. I live in Chgo. and work in DC. Both have anti texting and anti cell phone laws. I totally agree with them.

For those not experienced, this is likely the typical dripping while driving routine. You pull up to a red light, you realize now would be a good time to redrip. You have your VP in your left hand (still on the steering wheel), with your right hand you drip. You put down your juice, hold your e-cig however you prefer, you wait for the light to turn green and you resume on your way.

The most likely way you would be involved in an accident is if someone behind you doesn't notice the red light and plow into you. It's not rocket science.

Glad you agree with the texting laws. And I am willing to concede that there is not a problem with dripping while stopped at a red light. I still maintain that it should not be done while the vehicle is moving, straight or curved road, traffic or not.

As a now ex, roll your own smoker. I am not used to running out of 'smoke' and enjoyed the convenience of being able to roll and drive at the same time.

As a now proud vaper, I have started to teach myself to drip and drive, as the refillable carts are only really any good the first time, and basically, I prefer the vapour that comes from dripping.

I feel I have managed to learn to use my 5ml bottle quite confidently with not less lack of observation than that when I was rolling.

Just wondering if anyone else has mastered this or has been trying to since they started vaping?

A proud, trainee, driving instructor.

Adam

Yes, yes I have.

It's called "hand eGo to person in passenger seat and have them drip/top off for me". :)

A very good driver must posses ALL of the following...

--ability to pay attention to multiple things
--ability to focus when needed
--ability to process information quickly
--ability to anticipate what others might do
--ability to plan ahead
--ability to react quickly
--good spatial judgment

People vary drastically in how much they posses any or all of these things.

Keeping two hands on the wheel does NOT make a person a good driver.
Some of the worst drivers I have ever seen in my life have two hands on the wheel.

And keeping your eyes on the road in front of you at all times makes you a bad driver
If you aren't checking your rear and side view mirrors all the time, you're a bad driver.

And a lot of people become bad drivers just by talking to their passenger.

I don't drive with two hands on the wheel, and people that do scare me.
I keep an extra close eye on them when I see them.
