Ohhhh !!

Dry it off and Shake it out really good - slinging, but don't let go of it !!!
Put it in a bag of uncooked rice and seal it up for a few days...might be ok !

...I hope it survives !
Ahh few days :-( thank god I have my Mvp 2.0 still. Will whole grain brown rice suffice?

If it's not too late, don't try to fire the darn thing till after the drying process.

I don't know what's supposed to be so magical about white rice except maybe the price. I store my hearing aids in silica gel, which isn't that expensive if you get it in bulk. They sell it at Hobby Lobby for drying flowers. Probably elsewhere as well.

White rice is usually available, that's all. Anything asorbant will work. If it's any consolation, rice worked with an iphone. It took almost 2 weeks to thoroughly dry though. There's no way to hurry it and don't test until done. We just used a plastic bowl. The moisture inside is what needs to be coaxed out.

Does the case open? try using a blow dryer on the device first (moisture needs path of escape so try to get some area of the case unscrewed or open to get warm air into it. After several blow dry minutes, SEAL the device in a container with it buried in rice, couscous, tapioca or any died small grain(white rice does work best(no Uncle Toms it's parboiled). Do not try to fire it up at any time even dampness will cause a permanent shortand and will KILL it. Leave it SEALED in the rice so air can not get in(air will cause corrosion and make things worse. Leave it a minimum of 2 weeks before trying to fire it up. Good luck I know you must be feeling sick about what happened. You didn't say if it was fresh water?or salt water? If it was Salt Water start saving for a new one IT's DEAD. Good Luck! I'm rooting for you!

For electronics without LCD screens it is easy:
1. Do not power on or fire the device. If the battery is removable, do so immediately.
2. Fully submerge in rubbing alcohol (preferably the 90+% stuff) just long enough that it can fully penetrate the device in order to reach any water/moisture that is present. This step may damage paint or other finishes and will ruin LCD screens so use caution.
3. Dry using a paper towel, microfiber, hand to towel, or whatever else you have.
4. Place device in an OPEN bowl of rice with the device fully covered in rice or similar product for a day.

Damage to electronics from water comes from 2 possibilities. 1. a short due to the water which damages a component. This occurs when electricity flows through the device while it is wet. 2. Corrosion. This is a result of water sitting for too long. Removing the battery immediately and not attempting to power on or using the device until after the drying process is complete. The second issue is solved by the use of rubbing alcohol. Rubbing alcohol is safe to use on electronic circuits and displaces and dilutes any water that is present. Since rubbing alcohol evaporates much more rapidly than water it also reduces the water exposure which reduces the chances of corrosion. The rice is a safety net to ensure that the alcohol is fully removed and that any remaining water is removed with it. You leave it open to allow evaporation to occur so that water and remaining alcohol is evaporated or absorbed.

For a device with an LCD screen, just remove the batty as quickly as possible and put it in rice for a minimum of 3-4 days and keep your fingers crossed.
