Just like any electronic device in water. Turn it off, take out the battery if possible. Rinse in deionized, at least distilled, water and stick it in a sealed beg with rice to absorbe the water hiding in with the electronics. For a mechanical mod just rinse and dry to avoid corrosion.
Sounds like something I would do! Did you try to fire it off yet to see if it works? Really glad you have a backup too! Hope you got it out of the water quick enough before it damaged it. I was unscrewing my clearomizer and I forgot that my lanyard doesn't hold the battery itself, that it just sort of rests on top of the battery. It's an ego style lanyard..
