Just dropped my Rx200 on my cement/tiled floor..sounded like glass shattering.. fell into pieces and my LG's flew out onto the floor. It only fell about 2 feet, but the raised negative connections inside the mod dented the batteries... should I get rid of them and buy new ones or what? I put them back in and the mod started right up, took one puff and seemed fine. Here's a pic.. sorry but the quality, my Samsung tab camera isn't working properly.

There's no way to tell for certain from the outside. What looks like minimal damage on the outside may be worse on the inside. IMHO, that battery has been compromised.

Since you're going to be using it in a regulated mod with protected circuitry, and if you're a risk taker, you could measure the voltage with a multimeter. If its within normal limits (3.4 - 4.2 volts), you might continue to use it with extreme caution... measuring the voltage before and after charging, and before and after each use. In a mechanical mod, I wouldn't even consider taking the risk.

But as others have said, batteries are relatively inexpensive at $6 - $8 a pop. (No pun intended ;))

+1 to better safe than sorry. I had the same thing happen to me a few days after I got a R200 I dropped it with a pair of batteries in it. One battery was fine, the other had a dent very similar to yours, so to be on the safe side, I replaced the pair, tossed that battery and used the other one for my IPV D2.

Ya, I had the same experience a few years back back and went though the same decision process.

I decided to replace the batteries, just not worth the risk for me. Once one of these batts has internal damage you just don't know where you stand with them, and they can do well for a while and then suddenly go bad.

If it was a power tool I would have been more inclined to take the risk, but I put my mod in my mouth
