I started vaping Nov. 15 2013 at 18 mg. after a 40 year cig. habit It worked great. I dropped to 12 mg.after three months as I was getting anxiety from the 18 mg. I dropped to 6 mg. At 6 mg I am vaping a fool, almost non stop. The anxiety seems worse at 6mg. than 12 because I cant seem to get satisfaction. Should I go back to 12 mg. ? Thanks , Dave

I dropped to 6mg recently, but I keep 12mg around just in case I need some extra. The trouble with getting off cigarettes though is they have added ingredients that act have an anti anxiety effect. It could be that's what is missing. I dropped to 6 simply because I do vape like crazy, I always have one in my hand. I'd try going back to 12mg. Make sure you're drinking tons of water, and cut back on caffeine, I noticed caffeine has a much stronger effect on me without cigarettes than it did with them, which also increases that jittery feeling.

If it continues, maybe check in with a doc, you may actually HAVE an anxiety disorder that smoking hid all those years.

I was smoking a pack a day so i got 18mg and i have been having very vivid nightmares like crazy and i assume it because of lack of nicotine. However its been getting better for me maybe give 6mg a try for a few days.

Vivid nightmares / dreams are a likely side effect of TOO MUCH nicotine rather than too little. In fact it is one of the main side effects of patches that are worn overnight as you are getting nicotine delivered at a time when you wouldn't smoke and are very inactive. ie. you're asleep.

What the what??? So you mean the completely insane dream I had last night that left me all ...... off when I woke up this morning is a side effect off too much nicotine? Maybe I shouldn't have vaped that 15mg before goin to sleep last night lol

Quite possibly. However on top of what i said previously if your brain has entered the REM pattern and you suddenly get woken up then people often report vivid or weird dreams. A lack of nicotine is unlikely to make you wake up suddenly so i'm sticking with my original theory that it is too much nicotine that causes the vivid dreams / nightmares - as has been reported with using patches.

Why is it people want to drop the nicotine so fast? For me it's one of the best parts to vaping.

I don't think nicotine is a problem but why use more than you need? It's cheaper for me to use 6mg anyway when I mix my own.

I dropped because of a history of PAD (peripheral artery disease) in my maternal side of family, nic is still a vasoconstricter, so I really don't want to use more than I acutally *need*.

I went from 24 down to 6 over 18 months time, now do 3mg or ZERO

I used 24mg at start, pretty quickly went down to 18. And now i'm trying to go down to 12. But i find myself vaping like mad at 12.
But that's also one of the reason i wanted to go lower, so i could chain vape more without ODing.

I also got alot of anxiety on the higher levels on nic. (I've anxiety anyway but it turned alot worse when i stopped smoking.)
And as mentioned earlier, cut down on the coffee incase you're still drinking as much as you did when you smoked.
There's something in cigarettes that removes the effect of coffeine. When we're vaping we don't get that so coffeine + nictoine stacks together.
I've almost stopped my coffee consumption completly.

I don't think that you dropped to fast... It depends on your devices as well.
I dropped within 4 months from 18mg to 6mg and now I am vaping under 3mg (homemade).
The amount of nicotine which you get from your mod differs if you, i.e.
use of a rebuildable device or even a dripper (I don't want to get to specific here ;) )
inhale mouth to lungs or directly to lungs (even with non rebuildable devices)

If you do not change the device and you feel like you have the urge to get more nic...use 12mg again and just wait some time to adapt again and soon enough I noticed that you just want to decraese the amount of nicotine and eventually do so

I hope this gives you an idea of how you can "play around" with the amount if you want to

Happy vaping !
And a big thumbs up for quitting after such a long time !
