Yes, I smoked analogs for fifty years. When I started smoking I was a twelve year old kid living on an army base and when you put a quarter in a cig. machine a pack came out with three pennies under the plastic. I always smoked just before I went to bed but just one analog. Since switching to e cigs I seem to sometimes chain vape just to get that throat hit I was used to. Thanks , Dave

Higher nic can cause anxiety, for sure. I used to chain-smoke two cigarettes right before bed, because I was worried that nic craving would keep me from sleeping. Is that why you're chain-vaping? Or is it just a coincidence that sometimes you chain-vape and sometimes that happens to be shortly before bed?

If it's the latter, probably just knocking it off would help. :)

If it's the former, then I have no good suggestions. Maybe the lower-nic bedtime juice would give you the feeling of chain-vaping without the extra nicotine?

If it helps any, I'm struggling with similar issues myself. I want to smoke, vape too much, and end up with pretty high nic levels in me.

I had the same problem when I started vaping a couple months ago. I started with 18mg and couldn't sleep at night. I eventually went to 12mg and 6mg a couple weeks later. Now, I chain vape 0mg or 3mg (I mix a 6mg and a 0mg flavor). I never thought I would be able to go to the bar on just 3mg so I left a spare in the car with a 12mg. Now, I do a 0mg during the day and a 3mg when I go out. I am pretty impressed with myself seeing that only 2 months ago, I was going through 2 packs a day.

I noticed when I am chain vaping before bed time my juices that are higher than 12 are causing anxiety. Is that possible or all in my head? I like 18 on most of my juices and was wondering if stepping down to 12 mg would help when chain vaping. Thanks , Dave

I am also a high nic chain vaper. My ADV is Tasty Vapor Atomic Cinnacide 48mg. If I don't step down to 18 or 24 mg after 9PM I have a hard time falling asleep but have not noticed any anxiety. Good luck sir and congrats on making the switch. Enjoy the day!

I've seen this come up before, and it seems like it's a issue for many people. It's strange though... I've had anxiety and insomnia issues most of my adult life, but I chain vape 24mg all day (right up to the point where I turn over to go to sleep), and it doesn't seem to be a problem for me at all.

Hi Dave :)

I can tell you that for some people - the stimulant properties do cause some anxiety and insomnia when you consume higher nic - but just like caffeine some are not affected by it.

I am curious to know if you have stopped smoking and how recently? MY OH, as an example, had to have some periods of time with a WTA liquid as he had major (MAJOR lol) anxiety and insomnia as a withdrawal affect from tobacco use and all of its chemicals.

If you are not experiencing any side effects if you lower your nic to 12 in the evenings - then do that and it sounds like you are all set. If you still have issues and you have recently stopped tobacco - you may do what many have done and look into swedish snus or having a small bit of WTA on hand for crisis situations.

I hope all goes smoothly for you and you have happy vapings!

I've gotten a nic overdose twice from chain vaping (different strengths) and I believe it is caused by the lower absorption rate. If you're used to smoking, your body knows instantly upon inhale how much nic it has taken in. With gum, patches, vaping, or other methods, there is a delay and you can vape too much during that delay.

Once I get the anxiety, I get a craving for a cigarette, and of course that will make it worse. So I keep some 0 nic around and vape that until the anxiety is gone. It's the 61-year-old's equivalent of sucking my thumb I guess.

Now that I've started using WTA eliquid, which contains OTHER alkaloids also found in tobacco, I find I get satisfied BEFORE I get anxious, so that works to prevent over-vaping.

Back when I was studying in college after the kids went to bed I did the same thing with caffeine and learned to go from caf to half-caf to decaf to Postum over the hours, to keep my alertness up by the flavor but not become anxious from too much caffeine. If you get some good 0 nic liquid, you should be able to do the same thing with your vapes...taper down during the course of the evening, and switch to entirely 0 nic if you get anxious.

Both times I got the anxiety issues, it also helped a LOT to eat something a bit heavy, and send the blood to my stomach. No idea why.
