I thought it was a decent article. At least someone is studying vaping instead of just spouting off.

As said, vaping is harm reduction; not necessarily a totally safe practice.

I've yet to battle a cold since I started vaping three years ago. Prior to starting, I would get at least one nagging chest cold a year that would have me coughing up a lung or two for a couple of weeks.

I'll take my chances with harm reduction, thank you!

Vaping is harm reduction.

Whatever vaping does to the nasopharyx cigarettes do 80X more.

Well the article said that tobacco combustion actually decreases the ph found in the nose as opposed the the e cig vapor increasing the ph. But they follow up with the caveat that the surface charge changes are more favorable with e cigs. I still find it ridiculous that they are trying to make a connection to the massive proliferation of drug resistant bacteria like MRSA to e cig vapor. I will have to read the study more in depth and get a better handle on the findings but this just seems crazy. Here is a direct link to the study that the article is discussing.

Anyways Vice has actually written some pretty favorable articles in regards to e cigs and how the coming fda regs, as proposed, could destroy much of the industry and consumer's choice. But regardless, they should be ashamed of that article headline.

I just heard about this lastest crock of bovine effluent on TV. Wow.... there's no lie they will not tell, no pathetic angle they won't try to use. It's about scaring people and whipping up hysteria. It just shows the character of those trying to destroy vaping. I have never heard of a single case of superbugs being transmitted via vaping, but I'm sure they will invent one, or more.

They cannot contend with the facts and the truth, so they just make stuff up.

There have been several studies that state the exact opposite of these claims. Hospitals use aerosol pg as an airborne antibiotic to cut down the spread of the exact bacteria that is referenced. Casaa has the cdc study of its in that way from decades ago. Cdc also did a study on the results of pg/vg inhalation for the use of theatrical fog machines, the rats in this study turned out just fine, no plague of super bacteria reported. And the fda approved the nicorette inhalator so we can't blame the nicotine.
Propaganda is all this is, bs statistics from a study that was designed to be inconclusive

yes was in todays paper here in the uk, the sun I think pointing out e cig users are higher risk of mrsa also. had about 5 people come up to tell me as they all know I vape, at least the d... that wrote the article wrote the truth at the end that smokeing analogs was 10 times worse. so my reply was to them, did you read the whole article and would you prefer I went back to analogs that are 10 times worse. I pointed out e cig are harm reduction so if it reduces it by 10 times are they not doing there job to many replyed its how its worded that I never thought of it like that, if only people used there brains and thought about what they read and have there own opinions instead of just following fs.

A little more detail.
"...so while Crotty Alexander did not test bacteria exposed to e-cig vapor against antibiotics, she expects they would be resistant to the medications as well."

So they don't really know if they are more resistant just suspects it. What a crock.

I was just reading through these comments on the vice article I posted. I find it very uplifting to see people fighting back in the comments section and calling out bs on this study. And not just "ya this is bs" but actually getting into the flaws of the study. Some of Vice's stuff I think is great....others is complete garbage. Now on to trying to decide which is the best mech mod for my first mech purchase....
