DONT blow into the atty when you are dry burning if you do this. It makes it burn too hot and I have killed 2 attys this way before I realized my mistake.
The coil can get in the 1500F range during a dry burn. The nichrome coil is fragile at those temps. My only atty loose happened when I dropped hot atty on the floor.
Did you measure the resistance of your atties to verify they are dead?
