Quick question about dry burning- Do I need to wait until they are completely dry? How long does it usually take for them to dry? OK, two quick questions.
I always do because it seems to be less work that way, not everyone does though. Time to dry depends on ambient humidity, temperature and which vision size it is. Bigger visions with more air space seem to dry faster for me.
Thanks. I guess I will wait till morning. I don't need them before then anyway. They still may not be dry though cause they are nanos, and this is Florida so it is always humid. I guess you can relate to that, being in Texas.
i just blow them out and dry burn. if you let them sit, then they could corrode and stuff, i had that happen before, it shouldn't take very long for them to dry. like 5 minutes max of bursts, letting them cool and some more bursts.

Yep, very humid here on the gulf. And yeah, if you leave them too long they can corrode. Nanos are short so they dont take as long as the micros. I dont use a hair dryer because I dont keep one, but I have bern known to dry mine on a base board heater.
I use this method for both the visions and the fluxo's. After rinsing with hot water I then dip the wicks into pure grain alcohol, blot the wicks dry with a paper towel and then repeat. If I want to use it right away which is usually the case I'll dry them with a hair dryer which takes about 30 seconds. Pure grain alcohol evaporates very quickly and will displace the water.
This method works very well for the fluxo's since the tubes can be removed easily. For most people the tubes on the visions don't come off easily or not at all. I ordered replacement tubes for the vision some time ago but discovered they were too lose to sit on the most recent ones. So, I ended up using some O-ring from a 510 drip tip instead of the existing one in the tubes fit perfectly over top and does not leak at all.
One more question- now that I have dry burned, do I need to clean again to get rid of the nasty burnt smell, or does it go away on it's own? I know these are pretty forgiving on the burn taste/smell (much unlike the ego t wicks ) but I wanted to check before I filled it up.
